Silverstone GP Fallout

Morning lads, have not been doing the race threads anymore as everyone's gone

Silverstone was destined to be a dull race after Lewis obliterated the Ferraris but the tyre issues for Ferrari and Ricciardo's and Bottas' supreme drives were phenomenal.

Some may say Karma finally got to Seb for what he did in Baku but I felt for Kimi as he drove a good race.

I did note in the cool down session Bottas and Lewis were very impressed by the performance of their car which may be ominous for the rest of the season.

It is good to see a RedBull resurgence and they have a major upgrade due in Hungary as well.

Season is going very well so far, long may it continue.

I must say that I was quite pleased that Toto called out the press in this country for their treatment of Hamilton. Why we tear into our own is a mystery to me.

Why we tear into our own is a mystery to me.

Not just in F1 either.

A few years ago, I saw an article from an Italian fella on one of the football boards after an England match saying how shocked he was at how cruel the press were being towards the team.

Apparently, in most sports, England (Britain as a whole in fact) are actually well respected by our European friends.

We complain at constantly being laughed at by foreigners but the truth is, most of the abuse comes from within our own shores.

Spot on TandU

I like Hamilton, there are things he does, I like and there are things he does I do not like. Ultimately he is an adult and can make decisions for himself.

I do not take kindly to people telling me how to live my life so it amazes me that so many want to dictate how others live.

These same people will laud Hunt, Best, etc.

Hypocrites

Most did predict Ferrari would fall behind on the in-season development, turning out to be the case. Since working out the tyres issues in Canada, Mercs have comfortably had the measure of Ferrari.

Worryingly for Ferrari works team Renault finding speed (with Hulkenburg), that will have progressive effect on Red Bull (catching up fast).

Hulkenburg seeing Stroll pick up a podium before him, travesty. Can't catch a break.

Kubica out of nowhere looking very likely to take Palmers' seat.
If Kubica still as good from years back will keep Hulkenburg on his toes.

I know Palmer won GP2 but I have not seen anything from him that inspires confidence
