In theory, it should be possible to view the live LUTV broadcasts while still in the UK by using a VPN on your viewing device (or router).
I wasn't able to try yesterday -- did anyone on here (in the UK) successfully get to view the match by doing this and was it still pay-per-view even if you have the LUTV subscription?
Just wondering before I waste a fiver on the next match only to find out you can't!
Thanks!
LUTV live viewing from UK?

I enquired about all this with my club.
Basically there are no ways around it. Ifollow have the rights to streaming, and for £5 you can stream any game if you're abroad.
The thing is you have to register your account from a foreign bank account to be eligible.
I wanted to watch a couple of games on holiday, but have to do what I've said above.

Maybe there is just problems with banks from Barnsley.

Leeds fan let me know how you get on, I will not be home for a few weeks so will pay the £5 per week until I get back. When I get back I want to rip the club off/increase the income of the club by paying £5 for every game instead of 99p.

I paid for the stream using a paypal account registered to a UK account. Was outside the UK to watch, worked no problem, which suggests they are using an IP-based system to detect where you are.
Whether they can detect VPN usage or not is another question.

Been offered for a fan to let me pay through his foreign bank account anyway, if it doesn't work.

Sounds like PayPal will be the best way to go. Will see if I can watch from Spain (assuming the wifi in the hotel is on for longer than 5 minutes) then will try VPN from home in September.
