Fek do we talk ourselves down!!!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I would venture a guess it's related to the fact we have not qualified for any major tournaments in recent memory

19 years of being let down kind of gives you that level of expectation

This was the team that started v Brazil in 1998
I would say all bar Leighton were in their prime and arguably Goram should have played

I doubt the Welsh and Irish were as negative. We're usually out of it by now, we're on a roll of taking 10pts from a possible 12, yet we downplay our chances!!

Scotland have won 10 out of 12 points past 4 games.

It's the should haves that knock us out.

Still adds up to glorious failure.

That's because the manager sch!trs it at the start of a campaign to go out to win game. Only wen the hips are down do we suddenly find form
I mean what other country in the world after the draw is made say to their nation "we're going for a play-off spot" ? 😂
And then starts to workout how many points we need for 2nd place and can afford to drop
Do we never try to start a group on fire ? Treat every game as a "must-win" and god fookin forbid we try to win a group.
It's our total indifference at the start of campaigns that costs us every time. Managers are afraid to put their neck on the line and say we must try to win every game. We are continually trying to downplay expectations, lower the bar.
It's fooking pathetic. Until we take qualification serious from the first whistle of the first game to the final whistle of the last game we'll continue to fail.
We need a manger who is brave on his selections, brave on his tactics and brave in his attitude.
As much as I applaud strachan for recent performances, he is the reason we are playing catch up. He's not been brave enough. He's shirked the big decisions and got his team selections and tactics wrong in early games. Lookk at the poverty of some of the players he continually picks.
Everyone bar him knew Griffiths should be our number 1 striker. Only late in the day he's come to his senses and only when the situation has become desperate.
These decisions need made at the start of a tournament. In fact you could argue that his recent success is actually only off the back of Clerics success. We should probably credit Brendan Rogers more for ascotlands upturn in fortunes
Irrespective of the outcome of our qualification campaign, Strachan has had his chance. He must of at the end of this campaign.
