Inspired by Chronics 'this board is really boring at the moment' post. I thought I'd create something to see if it starts any discussion (probably not).
If you had to rank our 'first 11' in terms of their importance to us as a team, how would you see it? I'm not going to include our new signings at the moment as I think it's impossible to say, so I'll treat the first choice 11 as:
Lloris
Trippier
Toby
Jan
Dier
Rose
Wanyama
Dembele
Alli
Eriksen
Kane
For me it'd be:
1 - Kane
2 - Eriksen
3 - Dele
4 - Toby
5 - Jan
6 - Dembele
7 - Rose
8 - Wanyama
9 - Lloris
10 - Dier
11 - Trippier
Any thoughts? I'm a bit surprised at where I put Lloris, as he's a great keeper and captain for him, but I think it's hard to make a case for himn being above any other players.
Discuss, if you want, or don't.
Ranking our first 11 in terms of importance

Our only dips in form last season coincided with injuries to Kane & Toby so those two are clearly key. Re Lloris, the importance is regarding him cutting out key mistakes.... 2 soft goals at City Last season & home vs chelsea 2 weeks ago cost us valuable points against top 4 rivals. With that said, he still makes far more point saving saves than mistakes so he must be top 5. Re the rest of the team we have decent enough cover to get by..... For me Dembele is the key one, when he plays well, so do we !!!

Yeah I know but it was those Draws in October when they were both injured that hurt

tbf we had Toby and Kane for start of this season and we drew to Burnley at home which is as bad as any result last season

I wouldn't disagree with that original list. Kane and Eriksen the most important. Biggest source of goals and creativity right there.

Phenom, interesting how low you have Dele, I imagine most other fans would expect him to be virtually at the top but there's definitely an argument for a good few players being above him.

1. kane - main hitman
2. lloris - even though I think hes overated hes miles better than vorm, who is a total liability
3. dembele - boss the midfield
4. aldy/ verts - cannot split them based on last season
5. eriksen - creativity
6. alli - crucial goals
7- full backs important to our style
8 - the rest
if its a bigger game, wanyama and dembele would be high in the list as DM is such a crucial position against the top sides

Eriksen - we look flat without him
Lloris - so much better than the alternatives
Toby
Jan
Kane
Dembele
Dele
Rose
Son
The rest are interchangeable to be honest.
