Liverpool vs Sevilla will be a good test and it is interesting to see the (in my opinion) the most bizarrely organised team (in Liverpool) come up against another tactically different team in Sevilla.
I think they will struggle to cope with Mane, but that is no different from any other team in world football.
Good luck tonight

I like the tactic, and think it is how you should play in the PL (flat-track bully style as much more weaker teams)
========================================================
Actually, it's the opposite.
Doesn't work as well against the lower-half teams.
Works better against the upper-half teams. We didn't lose to any of them, last season.

Yeah you are right, as the lesser sides you probably struggled with more. Yet you seem to be the exception to the rule rather than the rule. Whereas the reality of it is the heavily attacking but weaker defensive units (Arsenal prime example) tend to be flat-track bullies.

I think it's a simple one. The false nine hasn't worked as well as teams sit deep and counter. We find him being pushed out of the box and going away from goal, resulting in us camped in front of the box passing it sideways unable to get through. As the game goes on we push up more looking for the goal and become susceptible to the counter attack.
My hope this season with having Salah as well as Mane with Coutinho in the mix also will mean sitting deep won't be as effective against us.

Yeah good comment, that is probably the only real explanation as you have two of the key factors in braking a defensive set up (Pace - Mane & Creativity - Lallana/Coutinho).
I wonder if we will see more of the same then by proxy? Even though Firmino is looking more and more comfortable at CF.

I think last season we lacked another wide player and thus it was easier to defend against. This season my hope is Coutinho drops back and then he has two pacey wide players to hit, if teams sit back and defend the centre.

What was Klopp going on about at the end of the game tonight? Kept saying: "What did I do...what did I do?".
TV analysts were not sure either.

They were shouting at him at the end. He asked them what did I do, why are you shouting at me? I didn't send him off. It was really simple to understand what was going on.
In case you didn't see the game, Sevilla's manager caught the ball as it went out of play then threw it away when Gomez went to get it. The referee warned him and then he did it again and was sent to the stands.
