English resurgence in the CL? *Update*

*UPDATE*
P35 W23 D9 L3

Halfway through the Last 16 ties, and English clubs still sit very pretty.

No defeats in the first legs, and the bookies have it as four clubs progressing to the QFs..

As a bit of context, if it was a league season, PL clubs would have 78pts from 35 games - up there as title form

City
Through - a great away leg.

Liverpool
Through- see above, with bells on

United
A pretty fortunate draw away by most acconts. No away goal to take home, but still favourites.

Spurs
A good performance in Turin, and two valuable away goals. Favourites to go through, but this could go either way.

Chelsea
The hardest task of all. Barca with just one away goal is their saving grace, although the post coat Chelsea a vital win. Not dead by any means

Spurs pretty much have the group sewn up so. Only need to beat Apoel at home and we need to lose both our games, 1 of those by 4 goals to not win the group.

There's no way the negative one will lose by 4, in an easy group.

I make United the most stitched-on to top the group, it is a weird quirk they have not already qualified.

City and Spurs still (probably) have to win a game to top theirs, whereas United just have to not get thrashed. They could lose both narrowly and still top the group.

We'd need to lose one of the games 4-0 to not top the group. That isn't happening.

"3 points at Sevilla to qualify"

3 Points at Sevilla to top the group isn't it?
---------------------------------------------------------------------

The Russians are 3pts behind - if they beat Maribor and win at Anfield they finish above Liverpool

Ah yes.

For the CL I would have them in this order of likelihood of winning it.

1. PSG.
2. Real Madrid.
3. Chelsea
4. Barcelona
5. Manchester United
6. Juventus
7. Manchester City
8. Atletico Madrid
9. Liverpool
10. Napoli
11. Bayern Munich
12. Tottenham

Still in a good position after the first legs

City and Liverpool are 100% through.

United and Spurs are in the balance. I make both favourites, but not heavily by any means

It would not surprise me if Chelsea went through, but I find it unlikely.

I don't think this Barca is anywhere near the vintage of recent teams.

Willian and Hazard will cause them problems. Said on a guilty pleasures thread the other day that Willian is one of mine. I think he is such a good player to watch.

Got the Barca duo at yours too, Morata with his Madrid history, Azpi and Alonso. Get the first....you never know
