Criminal proceedings have been opened into Paris St-Germain's chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi by Swiss prosecutors.
The proceedings are connected to an ongoing investigation into former Fifa secretary general Jerome Valcke, and relate to the sale of World Cup TV rights to BeInSports, of which Al-Khelaifi is chief executive.

hopefully they look into some of his other affairs
Anyone else think it will come to nothing?

Meh, even if there is a case to answer and we assume it’ll stick (I know, I know) then he’ll either get banned from football, which means nothing much changes bar a change in chairman at PSG, or he’ll be taken to court (I assume given it’s a criminal prosecution?). If it’s the latter then he’d fly home, not attend and nothing much would change.
I applaud the effort but I doubt this will amount to anything. Everyone know the World Cup bidding process was corrupt. If they were going to do anything it would have happened by now. It’ll go ahead in Russia and it’ll go ahead in Qatar. And England will be terrible in both

Criminal prosecution?
He's a close friend of the Emir of Qatar, and was made (by decree) Minister without Portfolio in the Qatari administration.
It's pretty safe to say he won't be facing criminal charges. For any alleged crime, however strong the evidence. Ever.

Swiss.bunch of money hoarding pen pushers, should investigate themselves for dodgy dealings.

atleast 1000's havent died try to build some stadiums that'll never be used again
not that anybody in any position of power appears to care about it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hundreds of thousands died whilst Freedom was being bombed into them in the region.
Thousands more died when our parliament agreed to bomb Syria with millions displaced as well.
I trust you support criminal prosecutions for these deaths as well?

Switzerland prosecuting anyone on corruption charges is like making the Sinaloa Cartel the supreme court for drug-related offences.

We should declare war on Switzerland, see how they try and weasel out of that. Swiss bunch of puffs.

What on earth are you on about?
Qatar has never been bombed in its entire history.
It was part of the coalition invading Iraq, was part of the coalition removing Gaddafi in Libya, and is actively funding and arming rebel groups perpetuating the conflict in Syria. It is a partner with Saudi Arabia in the illegal and brutal intervention in Yemen.
Qatar as an independent state has only ever in its history acted as an aggressor.
Your comment makes absolutely no sense.

The point is people suddenly care about death in the region because of the world cup, not when it is anything else.
I find that reprehensible.
Are the Qataris building the stadia or are the stadia being built by construction companies.
The vast majority Western based with a UK company being the largest.
Should a law suit be brought against this UK company for the murder of workers on its worksite?

Yes MUDD, a lawsuit should be brought against the company by the Qatari authorities.
I still have no idea why you've brought conflicts external to Qatar into this, because (I am guessing) you have no idea about the views of any of the contributing posters as regards those completely unrelated conflicts.
