Sterling

The whole Sterling leaving city thing being stirred up by the daily mirror again.

Does anyone really see this happening?

I think you have a case where you have lots of talented young players who are starting to all realise their potential and become genuine quality. Pep has managed them well so far but any one of those players could easily go to another top club and be a main man over the coming years rather than stay at City and have constant competition, and despite their talent not the main player. I reckon other top clubs will circle your players each summer, and especially if you have a year poor year they could be persuaded to leave

I disagree, our approach in the market has been hotly debated for almost a decade, but one thing you can’t argue with is that the way the club have gone about business, especially in regard to wages, has largely safeguarded us from having our best players cherry picked by bigger clubs.

Why would anyone want to go to Arsenal at the moment? Spurs is an interesting one. Good squad at Spurs, but I feel the wage cap there is going to be put to the test. They certainly wouldn't be able to match the wages we pay without royally peasing the rest of them off. Maybe Alli the other way more realistic.

I can understand why Sterling would be desperate to move to Arsenal, after all it isn't like City are doing well and he must be sad about missing those big Thursday nights in Minsk.

No to losing him, he is growing with every game, even if Arsenal offered £50m + Sanchez.

I think the point is more that some of the stars may want more individual freedom (ala Neymar) and be the main man to acheive Ballon D'ors and the like. I don't see Sterling one, but potentiall Sane or Aguero.

Any examples other than Neymar? Aguero is 29 so I think that ship has sailed for him. Sane I agree to an extent - if he carries on the way he is I can see Bayern and Real coming knocking in a few years. I can’t see him downgrading to “be the main man” in a hurry though. Both he as Sterling would be daft to leave us right now anyway, the team seem to be starting to really believe they are on the cusp of something special.

To get paid, like all the other footballers.

On this subject though, it's all BS, Sterling is not coming here.

I'm sure a more intelligent man than myself could rattle off more but: Robben, Snjeider, Di Maria, I would argue Inter Ibra and to a lesser extent higuain

I think you can only really compare Di María and Higuain from that list, who both moved from a big club in and around their prime. Even so, it would be utterly nonsensical for somebody like Sterling or Sane to move to a smaller club given their respective ages.

The idea of Sterling and sane moving is ridiculous, both playing for a manager they admire for a club looking to go in the right direction and grow.
