Team for Huddersfield

Fellaini and Pogba supposed to be close but might not quite be ready for Saturday. Might even see Pogba get some minutes in the league cup next week at Swansea before returning vs Spurs. We can hope.
Bailly still out? Rashford hopefully not too bad with his injury but you'd think there's a fair chance he'll miss this weekend.

Quite like to see Miki dropped for Lingard and move Mata centrally this weekend but I think he'll stick with him and try and get him back into some kind of form.

I'm not buying into the system business.... 80% of our games, this season, we have clattered team and forced them to have 10 men behind the ball. This is where a #10 needs to shine, unlocking tight defences.

He's just been average... I'm not giving up on him, but i'm not gonna make excuses either. He's bang out of form.

Mkhi, like Martial, should come into his own in the more open games and late on against tired legs, where he has room to work and can use his pace to do damage. We've seen plenty of evidence of this this season with both of those players.

Neither for me is the kind of player who is likely to show their best against deep, compact, well-martialled defences. Again, we have seen direct evidence of that this season, and in such games (or at least early on in such games), we're going to need to be more reliant on Mata, Pogba and Rashford to create our chances.

His stats are incredibly misleading.

Idiot.

If the day ends in a y, VC has his grumpy head on.

Miki has been very poor.

Miki has been very poor.

...............

In the last few games, yes he has.

What you are an idiot for is not that particular fact, but this particular idiotic comment.

'His stats are incredibly misleading'.

His stats are not incredibly misleading at all, they are exactly what they are.

Unless you are one of these people who gauge performances from stats.

Advocate starting with best XI in all games. Thus, injuries permitting, I'd go with:

Darmian
Jones
Smallng

Fellaini/Blind/Carrick

Matic
Mkhit
Pogba
Matic
Mata

Lukaku

Even if we add Coco, and assume that one Matic should be someone else (say, Valencia), can anyone make a legitimate formation out of this?

Giving Jones a rest before we go to SB would be advisable, and for a shake up we should leave Miki on the damned bench and see what Jesse can do, I'd go with Mata Martial and Lingard behind Lukaku, and leave Mike and Lindelof as CB. The Udders started fine, but if we don't put 3 or more goals in against them, something is wrong with us.
