For the mathematicians among you that means we have met 75 times in the league before Saturday’s game. However our last League meeting was as far back as October 1971 when we lost 2-0. I didn’t go to that one, for some obscure reason that has become lost in the mist of time, so this will be my first visit to Anfield and I’m really looking forward to it and I honestly think we have no reason to fear them particularly after our magnificent win over Man U last Saturday. Also they should be nice to us as we gave them Shankly and look what he did for them.

Liverpool seem to be in a bit of disarray at the moment with many of their supporters unhappy with the team, particularly their defence. Hands off Schindler he’s ours 😡

The odd little bits I’ve read from Liverpool fans suggests they’re particularly unhappy with Lovren and Henderson with some even going as far as saying Lovren’s played his last game for the club. Although I’ve watched them on TV occasionally I really don’t know enough about them to say where their failings are so over to you on that score.

I’ve also read (I like to read in case you haven’t guessed ) that this game could be billed as Master v Apprentice but the way Wagner is progressing he won’t be termed the apprentice for much longer. I’m sure there will be lots of renditions of ‘he’s better than Klopp’ from the Town fans to embarrass him in front of his best mate.

If I was Wagner (I wish I was on his salary, i’ve no idea what it is but I bet it’s better than mine ) I would go for the same team as Saturday, I couldn’t fault any of them. We need to go to Anfield with the same mindset we had against Man U and have a right go at them and you just never know what might happen.
