A deal has been agreed for Marouane Fellaini to sign for Besiktas in the January transfer window for £8 million. - [Mirror]
Obiouslty a load of sh*t but does anyone see the out of contract players leaving in January?

More than Fellaini. And that will not change this season.

None of them were more effective players for United than Fellaini though.
Just once again challenging the myth that a squad full of top level PL players is necessary to win the league (or even possible to assemble).
We've won the PL repeatedly with very good first teams supported by very average squad players.

If he's refused a contract, he's hardly going to command an £8m fee in January is he with him being free in the summer?
This needs to be his last yr at the club. He's not Championship winning quality. Never will be.

How many PL winners medals do Kleberson, Jordi Cruyff, Obertan, Poborsky, Gibson, Fortune et al have between them?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
They had the luxurious advantage of playing in far superior Utd teams under the greatest manager of all time.
Are you suggesting we keep him then in our battle to try and topple Chelsea, Spurs and City? Is he going to allow us to do that?

Fellaini is not an effective player for us.
When our fans start accepting this kind of crap then we will end up being like Liverpool.
I used to mock them for accepting then likes of Dyrk Kuyt as the normal.
The Livepool fans of their glory years would not have done that.
We don't need someone in our starting XI who is just useful.
We need better

You could have said the same about any of the players I listed above. None of them prevented us from winning year after year an unprecedented amount of silverware.
The greatest club sides ever to have existed have had very average squad players. Every single one of them.
And Fellaini isn't a starting XI player. He's a reserve, and a plan B option. If Pogba, Herrera, Matic and Carrick are fit and firing, he doesn't get a look in unless the boss uses a specific tactical approach that requires his particular specialist skill-set. He'll start fewer than 20 games this season.
In short, he's not the biggest of our issues, nor are the likes of Lingard, Blind, Darmian, Romero or any of the other bit part players.

His presence in the squad isn't going to "allow us to" win or prevent us from winning the league.

Fellaini constantly gets linked to Turkish sides for some reason. Probably rubbish.
Makes no sense why we’d sell or why he’d want to go to Turkey

Sorry Rosso but Fellaini is by far one of our biggest issues.
Playing someone in the CM who can not play that position is a massive problem.

He's started four games so far this season VC. Four. He's a fringe player who has relatively very little impact on our successes and failures.
As it happens, we've won each and every one of the four games he's started in, three very comfortably. He's scored three goals in those four games and been one of the best players on the pitch in at least two of them.
If you want to single players out to point the finger at (which IMHO isn't the smartest thing to do current context considered), I'd start with Mkhi, Martial and Herrera as underperforming starters before looking at the likes of Darmian and Shaw.
