Was comfortably my man of the match. Won EVERYTHING against Kane and Alli in the middle.I know Alli aint shiet these days but Mustafi was immense. Kos had an easy game for once.
If Mustafi can maintain this form and it is his second season by the way alongside Kos and Monreal who are our best defenders we could have a decent season. Bellerin was awful again but oh well cant win everywhere.
I thought Xhaka also had a good game.He has apparently touched the ball more times than anyone else this season. Doesnt get any credit but he is a good player. Outplayed Dembele who does some nice dribbles but cant pass for shiet
Mustaf

The good thing about Mustafi is he a complete player, meaning he passes well and reads the game well. Its when he mistimes his challenges. Thats why I did say if he starts the game well he is a nightmare for strikers, similar to Kos aswell.
You can always tell Kos will have a good game by judging his first 15 minutes.

koscielny and mustafi are risk taking defenders, hence why they are always open to criticism. Some would honestly have a Maguire or Smalling because they don't take risks and sit back hence will never attract unnecessary attention. But as we have seen with Smalling, if you struggle with ball at feet you cant be a top defender in todays game.
This is what we need Mustafi to do, eliminate the unnecessary rash tackles. He simply needs to be taught that he doesn't have to win everything.

Immense today but played in a very concentrated Arsenal defense. No silly mistakes in front of goal. If only we could continue like this at the back we would have won more games.

Mustafi was definitely the MVP! A great goal, despite the TV cheer-leading commentator who tried to say he was off-side. The same idiot who questioned whether or not an Arsenal player had his ARM in an off-side position prior to the second goal. Obviously he does not understand the off-side rule.
Fortunately the TV analysts clarified things at the half-time break

Agree. Mustafi was clearly the man of the match as was against Chelsea as well. We have found our 'Luiz'.

For once Mustafi knew how to defend. He's ball playing abilities were never in doubt. But if he can continue to defend like today, that 35mill will reflect it.

Problem is he will get bullied at Burnley next week

Its not once though is it. He hung tough against Chelsea away as well.
Clearly Mustafi looks far more comfortable as the middle of the 3 in a 3 Cb formation compared to to a back 4 with a dodgy full back like Bellerin next to him.

Burnley is a bit of a worry. Sort of team our players don’t seem to concentrate against, and put in a proper shift all over the park, we get that really annoying complacent attitude and get punished. It’s frustrating to see our team are capable of top performances, but then Just completely forget about it in the next game

What game did you watch? Bellerin finally had great game going forward and was solid defensively.
