Four Soft Goals

Ok so the whole team had an off day for whatever reason, but with a competent level of Championship defending the score should have been 0-2 , or 1-2 away win. At the worst a 2-2 draw, a sensible game plan would have been to come out for the second half and shut up shop, then catch em on the break, instead they did that to us.

Mancienne directly responsible for the first and the third, what was Traore doing for their second? and it's not the first time he's totally failed to make an aerial challenge in his own penalty area.

The fourth was just a general shambles, the coaching staff have to take the blame, because the players didn't look as if they knew what they were supposed to be doing.

Having just watched the extended hi-lights the one defender who looked totally blameless for all four goals was Smith. In the past a good keeper would have pushed that around his post and out for a corner, thus relieving the immediate pressure, but the ball has changed and a lot of contemporary keepers to Smith don't take any chances with a light spinning ball.

How is it possible to score two excellent goals, but concede such howlers?

And if Traore's hands are cold tell him to run and work harder and learn to jump ffs.

They had one chance against us and scored it. I assume they set up the same way against you lot but managed to score 4. That's pretty impressive.

Mancienne is the sort of defender who would fit in well over at Derby, he likes passing to his opponents!

Derby goals against 21
Forest goals against 33

Don't think we will be signing him.

Been telling you all season you don't have any decent central defenders. Shackell should be available for you in January.

Sorry, don’t do twitter so haven’t a clue what you’re on about.

He will be massively out of Forest’s price range but as a local lad, Aden Flint at Brizzle would be a top signing. If he goes anywhere, it is likely to be one of those With parachute payment money to burn or Wolves.

Aden Flint would be a good call. Perhaps we could offer Mills, Carayol, or Ward plus cash.

But the problem is not really about personnel. We need better organisation, awareness and leadership. More time needs to be spent on the training field sorting out the back five; much more time.

Too many of our players need to work a lot harder as well. For me only Lichaj and Osborn can be relied on to put in a proper 90 minute shift. Maybe Dowell.

For the third Ipswich goal why was Mance isolated at LB? Where was Traore? why was Joe jogging back instead of busting a gut to get some cover on?

Going back to the Brum game, when Osborne lost the ball on the half way line for their goal why was Bridcutt standing appealing for a free kick instead of trying to win the ball back.

Say what you like about Cardiff's tactics the difference in the level of work rate between them and Forest was embarrassing.

These are things which are easy to put right; it's not a question of skill or ability it is just do we have the will to win?

Maybe a little hangover from the Fawaz’s years. Mate said he spoke to Chris O’Grady recently. He said the set up at Forest then was a shambles. Players constantly late for training, coaches being ignore and big rifts in the squad. Bound to be a few bad eggs still in the squad now so Warburton will still have work to do to resuscitate the club.

The telling part for me regarding the Ipswich was that there were two holding midfielders on the pitch but Forest were caught on the break twice for the last two goals. Traore is encouraged to push forward so one of Bridcutt or Vaughan should have been on the cover really?

True Will.
When we played Derby Huddleston and Ledley hardly moved from their position in front of the back four; and they were at home.
On Saturday Vaughan and Bridcutt should have been stopping anything coming through the middle at the centre of our defence. Didn't sound like they made the effort - lack of discipline. If that is what MW told them their job was.

When we are away I don't want our FBs crossing the half way line unless we are two down with less than twenty minutes to go. Even then I would probably go 3-4-3 with three genuine strikers playing as strikers

O’Grady was with us during the Freedman season, when to be fair to the squad they pulled together and went on a season saving unbeaten run.

I would 100% believe If he had been there last year or under Davies but this seems strange with the timing

Well, it seems to resonate with me. The decline during their five years at the club was bound to have an effect on morale and when things go wrong, people hide. I can quite believe that a lot of the dud signings during those year simply sat back and did jack all. Remember Worrall’s interview the other season when he said that it didn’t matter enough to some players at the club how the team performed?
