Listening to talk sport on the way back from the game tonight, and Andy Goldstein stating how good matic is.
Cundy is saying matic would not have got in our team this year as he is not better than fab creatively, not better than kante defensively and would not be the player to go forward beyond the midfield and make runs hence why he was sold. Makes sense.
Man utd fans saying matic will get in any team in the PL.
Goldstein saying how bakayoko has been poor this year and is not an improvement on matic last year.
Can I just ask, has nobody seen matic the last 18 months? The guy was a waste of space for us. I just find it all very bizarre how much of this matic sale is being spoke about. I mean, even i'm doing it!
Yes bakayoko has not been great, but would still prefer him to matic of last year

Listen I have NOTHING against matic, what a beauty he scored aganst spurs, he won 2 league titles with us, and in his first season was great. But as DL11(who are you?)says let's not rewrite history here.

kante papers over a lot of our cracks firminho, one player really can make a lot of difference. Look at hazard in our attack, azpi in our defence and kante in our mdifield.

I can remember Matic being so poor in the 15/16 season under Jose and then Hiddink that he lost his place to Mikel for at least some of that season.
I do find this sudden attempt by some to turn Matic into some kind of midfield great highly amusing though.
He's a decent PL midfielder with some good attributes and some poor ones as well. That's about it and that's why prior to his Utd move hardly anyone talked about him among the PL's best midfielders.

United and the medias obsession with comparing Baka to Matic is tedious. They are both players who are going to have their good days and their bad days, neither of them are currently world beaters. The one game which was the perfect platfrorm to compare them, was when they played each other, and in that game Bakayoko came out on top. Comfortably. Funnily enough I don't recall the media or United fans doing too many comparisons after that game, funny that.

Every single time we drop points we keep hearing how selling Matic is apparently the reason it happened.
