We are top of the form table over the last 4 games!

We played well today. 2 poor games against Norwich and Hull but before that we were putting in good performances.
We've played well this season and come away with nothing like against Derby.
And just because we aren t playing well as a whole team, doesn't mean we aren t defending well. Hull dominated the whole game last week but after the first 10 minutes, they didn't actually create good chances

185 I agree if we don’t play better we could struggle against better teams or lose points that we’d hope we wouldn’t.
But I see this as an average bunch of players that TCs been dealt and fir first season I think he’s doing really well with them and you can see some glimmers if positive football shining through, that, given better players, might just come to something given time, but right now we’re msking best if what we’ve got, we have no real alternatives waiting to step in and transform the side.

I thought we played well and controlled the game. We were a class above them and their strategy was to have 10 behind the ball, stay in the game and pick up any crumbs or morsels that might drop their way. They scored against the run of play. Even at 2:1 down they were still sitting deep with 5 at the back. It infuriated me to see us retreating back in the last few minutes and inviting them to lob high balls into our box and hope for defensive errors, coz sure as hell they were never gong to outplay us. Why the hell did we not press on and get a third goal? Good 3 points but Christ we made hard work of it against a much inferior team.

Peak, watch/listen/read Wenger and Klopp's comments about how their sides played against each other in their 3-3 draw last week.
There is a happy medium between going for a third goal at 2-1 and just sitting back as we did for the last 12 - 18 minutes of the Burton game.
I really get nervous when we have 11 men in the last 35 yards of the field and just hoof the ball upfield. It invites pressure and often just becomes a case of when the opposition will score.
The last few minutes of a game, the winning side should at least focus on maintaining possession of the ball. Going for the third goal could lead them open to counter attack and loss of 3 points.
Balance is the key.

think its pretty naive to expect to be super entertained by this group of player and to be blowing teams away every week.
if they all turn up we can play some good stuff.
but championship players play average/inconsistent football.
unless your wolves who have 4 or 5 solid prem players.

Rich I’m sure someone said no standout teams in this league.
But then people say that every season!

Wolves and Boro have standout squads. The rest of the teams doing well are mostly average teams with one or two star quality players that can make the difference.

“I’m sure someone said no standout teams in this league.”
At the beginning of the season before the games started? No one stood out before the season began. Now that we are halfway, Wolves have established themselves clear at the top.
So....?

No, someone sUd it half a dozen or so games on.
There is always at least one stand out team.
