BDO World Championship.

After the fun of Rob Cross winning on debut, Phil Taylor bowing out and all the fun of the PDC it is the turn of the BDO. The working class, old fashioned version of darts - where trebles are smaller, crowds are more respectful and knowledgeable, and the commentators aren't Wayne Mardle.

It all kicks off on Saturday 6th, with action on both Channel 4 and BT Sport.

Averages down obviously but the matches have been entertaining contests. Durrant said if he made the semi he won’t go pdc school which is a shame cos he is definitely capable of top 16 there.

I think he is contractually obliged to stay with the BDO. Probably not worth the effort/money to fight it.

Looking at the prize money the gulf between the orgs is vast,not too bad for finalists realistically but considering its the flagship 6.5k for qf is shocking.
