Yeah Marotta, Zidane, Pogba and Raiola all confirmed Real spoke to Juve and Pogba but they obviously didn't want him because Baz doesn't think he's good enough for them.

No doubt Pogba felt he had unfinished business at United and like I said he wants to prove himself (as any player would). And that is also part of his ego, which again many top players will have.
