Rebuild in progress

Looks like Arsenal are starting the rebuilding job for next season. Coquelin gone, Walcott gone, Sanchez all but out the door.

Now we just need the board to put their hands in their pockets for some quality replacements and line up a new manager for the summer.

What's the betting we just sign a couple of 18 year old 'prospects' and Wenger extends his deal again?

Do you expect anyone else to leave in this window and what would be your first 11 for the start of next season?

Looks more a case or reducing the wage bill and bringing in funds to make up for the money lost from the lack of CL football.

We don’t know if it’s a proper rebuilding job yet. Wait to see if we actually bring in good players

I'd never even really thought of this but it's exactly what the club would do. You may be right.

Now there's a depressing thought. Thanks for that

Arsenal are one of the richest clubs in the world irrespective of Champions League money there is no excuse for not replacing players that have gone. Unless getting rid of these players is to clear the decks ready for the next manager any other reason especially cost cutting is unacceptable.

Ox, Gibbs, Coq, Walcott, Sanchez and maybe add Giroud, Ozil, Wilshere, Debuchy. We will also probably lose Lucas, Joel Campbell, Per, Santi, Jenkinson and Akpom by the end of the summer to retirement or if we can sell them.

I do get the feeling that some of those players, like Walcott and Coq were chosen to be the eones sold because we can get the most money for them, not because they are the worst we have in that position. Walcott and Coq must have really lost form to be worse than other players we are keeping in their positions. Not sure how long Kos has left with his injections every game as well.

A few kids coming through but we need to bring in a few players all over the pitch. Im all for giving Nelson, Eddie, AMN, Chambers, Holding, Iwobi, etc a chance and they need game time to improve. Im not sure they are all first team quality now but as we are unlikely to even qualify for EL this season we may as ell give them their chance and rebuild in the summer but get a few players in now.

But dont forget, we are half way through the window and so far we have seen nothing more than talk about us signing anyone. we should have had the deals lined up for the first week in January.for selling and buying.

Literally every position needs improving and upgrading. GK, defense, midfield, attacking.

We also badly need a new manager. In fact that's the priority. Can't imagine the epic waste of money if we let Wenger do the rebuilding job. In fact, i'd be happy not to spend a single penny until Wenger does leave.

We've got in a new DoF and a Head of Recruitment. That's a decent start. We need to carry it through with wholesale changes to the entire staff.

I don't know if people appreciate how rotten to the core we are. We are stagnate all through the club and only a mass of change will shake us out of it.

Slightly melodramatic. We are cash rich and are offloading players who are not good enough for the first team. Yes Wenger needs to go and yes we need reinforcements but the way some fans are talking you'd think we were rock bottom of the Prem and going into Receivership

Yet Welbeck, Iwobi, Xhaka are first teamers. Kay mate...

And when did I say those players were good enough for the first team? So are you suggesting we shouldn't sell Theo and Coq because we still have the likes of Xhaka? We should sell them all in my view but a mid season fire sale would be damaging if we haven't got anyone lined up to replace them.

And even if we did replace them with better players - you can hardly expect say 8 new first teamers to integrate automatically. Players have to be introduced gradually and preferably in the Summer when they can train together without the pressure of having to win big Prem and Europa matches.
