Man United 2-0 Hudds Town

Hey Up my little Red Devils, This reverse fixture has come around at an awkward time ...For Hudders to visit the 'Theatre of S'Hudderz'.
The 1st encounter was a David v Goliath affair. With an appropriate out come So just a little reminder of the 'details'.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bpXbi9ifNNE

Exhibit 1 out of the way.
Unfortunately for us Town fans, That's more or less as good as it's been The general trend has been downwards ever since.
With Town sitting rock bottom in the current last 6 games played. as follows:-
v Stoke, 1-1 draw,
v Burnley, 0-0 draw
v Leicester, 3-0 lost
v West Ham, 1-4 lost
v Stoke, 2-0 lost
v Liverpool, 0-3 lost 2pts from 18, Trap door, relegation fodder.
What's gone wrong,
In a nutshell, An apparent surrender of a large proportion of the field right from the kick off ! Very little in the way of pressing, Something we appeared to do really well in the first few games of the season.
And a very poor attacking mindset, where by the ball never seems to be supplied anywhere near enough for the (usually) lone forward to have a positive impact.
For you 'United' readers, previous threads on our pages go into relevant detail as to who, what & why we Town fans are at this time so disillusioned
with the present state of affairs.
Just to put it into perspective, Our last 'league' win was against Watford, away. 16th of Dec !!

Previously,
Mooy & Depoitre were the Town scorers,
Rashford for United...Then the battering started, But the defense held that particular day.
Shanchez to make his home debut ? Probably.
New for Town since the game at the John Smiths.. Kongolo, A loanee defender from Monaco, And 'attacking' mid-fielder Pritchard from Norwich.
Will they play, Can't help you there , Due to Wagners continual rotation strategy, A complete lottery as to who will make the starting Eleven.
Last time out, Wagner actually started our two Big forwards together! A rare occurrence. Even though this had been called for by many a Town fan for weeks.. The ploy backfired spectacularly ! v The Mickey Mousers, We managed just the 1 (one) shot on target the whole game. Unlike our early season enthusiasm, fingers are starting to point in the direction of :-
Attitudes,
Effort shown,
lack of supply,
Ability shown, And that's just towards the forwards !
In the last 6 games, conceding 12 goals & scoring just the '2' leaves little for optimism this time around despite winning the home fixture a few months ago. Yep. The defense have probably got more issues than the forward line.
One wee positive, and common sense detail, Town will play in the traditional Blue & white stripes and NOT in the away kit options.

United .
2nd in the league, a 3pt gap to the Scoucers in 3rd. But what is looking like an impossible gap to close, on local rivals City a whopping 15pts clear.
January was going well for United untill that 2-0 defeat to Spurs a few days ago. with wins v
Burnley 1-0
Stoke 3-0
Everton 2-0.... But draws you could ill afford v
Southampton, 0-0. Burnley 2-2 & Leicester 2-2 !
The Burnley & Southampton ties at Old Trafford.
Town having draws against these two sides too is the only glimmer of hope I can dig up, where by I hang out for Lightening to strike TWICE... offered now. I think 100% of Town fans would grab at a point if offered before hand. The way things are going at the moment, The Town win earlier on would seem like a 'One off'.
Being realistic, A heavy defeat could well be on the cards yet again.
Lingard ! Lakaku ! now Shanchez !
Quite a tall order no matter how well our defense perform to hold off those three characters.
And just to finish off,
A little nostalgia for those who can remember,
How about these three, Charlton, Law. Best .

Oh how times have changed, Just watch Bobby lash that ball 5yards, 35 yards, made no difference. The ball was going 'In'.
Seriously. How much would this fella have been worth today .
A time when watching good opponents was a pleasure
&.... I think it was around 35p to watch this game

Anyway, crack on TOWN, Give it everything,
And here's to hoping we'll see you again at 'ours' on the 17th

Set 'em alight the Blue & White

Wagner has suggested the game plan will now change due to Town being able to compete with teams around us. Hopefully, it’s not too little too late! The team may have a disposition to actually playing football and not conceding massive amounts of the pitch.

Come on David, we’re counting on you!
