Crisis.

There's no other word for it at the moment. And I have a feeling that it's now getting very serious both on and off the park.

United crashed to an anticipated defeat on Friday night away at Livingston and, with other results, slid down to fourth in the league. With the way we are playing, we are in very real danger of not only not getting promoted (we won't), but also of missing out on the play-offs entirely which of course would be an unmitigated disaster.

The performance on Friday was predictably poor and it's hard to see where we can improve as the players just aren't doing it. Rumours abound that the players don't like Laszlo which to me is beside the point - they are professionals and should be doing their jobs. The manager however has to take his share of the blame. His record is now worse than Ray's and that's nowhere near good enough. Laszlo out? It's already moving towards that stage.

We of course have two games this week - QOTS tonight and then St Mirren on Friday night and quite frankly we NEED results. Both games are at Tannadice and the players really need to step up now. I however worry we may end up pointless. Tonight is the critical game.

Off the park, concern is mounting. United have sold Gussie Park (all weather surface across the road from Tannadice) to director Mike Martin for £1m. This looks like trying to keep the wolf from the door, but it's also Thompson selling one of our few assets to his pal. Protecting Gussie in the event of our administration? That's the rumour. Who knows though. As ever, don't listen to internet rumours.

What the last few weeks has led to has been momentum growing towards the fans group looking to grow funds to fund a purchase of the club in the same way that the Hearts fans tried to grow a movement. It may be our only way out of this mess, but it'll take time and at the moment it feels like that's something we don't have. There's been lots of talk of season tickets not being renewed until change happens and I suspect that isn't just talk.

Troubling times for United and administration seems like a real possibility at the moment. Promotion is certainly gone for us now.

You going tonight Ivan ?

I will be enduring it.

Recovering from a heavy cold so was tempted to use it as an excuse, but will head along. Missing the St Mirren game though.

You coming up for it?

Maybe Jackie McMamara might buy Dundee United as a feeder club for the mighty York City FC.

The weather here is absolutely fine - no snow at all now. Not sure what travelling conditions will be like though.

"I am sure if the roles were reversed and we were in that situation united would offer a helping hand were possible or at the very least offer consideration and respect towards the club's circumstances.

It would be sad to see clubs gloat and stick the boot in at any opertunity while actively seeking to block any changes to the games structure that might benefit them, even if they improve Scottish football.

I am sure some will but a club like united would never behave that way."

Indeed, we behaved with utmost respect. When Dunfermline, Hearts and even Dundee entered financial difficulty, United fans rallied round, offered support and even dipped their hands into their pockets and chucked a few quid in the buckets for those collecting for the clubs.

Of course those clubs all admitted they had a problem and solved it. Would be very difficult to help fans of a club when they don't even try to help their own club.
