NZ v England Test series

Now over to summer. Some exciting matches ahead. Will be interesting to see how england do against India. England would start favouraties but it will be pretty close imo.

Leave you guys with a stat, not a single win for England since the India series in 2016. That must hurt, I know it’s becoming a norm to win at home but need to introspect how the test team has gone so backwards. Players like cook might be playing their last series this summer, not sure he can just his place anymore

Shame we couldn't get this one over the line, it would have been a nice morale boost for the test side. There's a few issues that need to be addressed but I hope we stick with Wood and Leach as they bring speed and a quality spin option. Sure it weakens the batting that Woakes and Ali provide although both provided decent contributions with the bat in this test.

If Stokes was fully fit to bowl then I think we'd have had enough to finish NZ off but it is what is it.

The batting is the major at the moment though. Cook's form is obviously giving us a huge problem at the top. I'd persist with Stoneman for now and although he made 70 odd in the first innings, Vince isn't our long term solution (although he did better than I expected him to do over the winter). England will be keen that Jennings and Hameed start well this summer for Lancashire.

In other thread, he was comparing Aussies with Windies who lost to Afghanistan twice with their full strength team recently. Windies also just scrapped to qualify for World Cup. Still, Viru in his brain fart moment, comparing Aussies to them. Even without Warner & Smith, they have a strong team..

Remember the period Aus were in a massive decline. In 2010 to 13 they looked clueless. I reckon next 2-3 years Aus are going to be in par with Westindies. Will be very interesting to see a 5 test match series of Aus vs WI. Will be very competitive and I for one can’t say who would win.

Australian batting looks weak with three of the top 6 gone and Shaun Marsh nearly 35. Bowling looks good but is there much depth beyond the current 4 bowlers?

West Indies would have a half decent side if they would actually play for their country.

England have major questions at the top of the order. Hopefully Leach will be given his opportunity, as we need a serious spinning option.
