Slowly the rugby “code” is being eroded.

Shame really as it was probably the last sport that earned and deserved respect from top to bottom. Players are equally guilty as more and more are challenging the referee which never used to happen.

Have you seen the farce around the Spain rugby match?

They needed to win to secure qualification to the World Cup. Winning would have seen them qualify ahead of Romania.

Now which country did the referee come from? Romania and by all accounts the decisions made were questionable to say the very least.

WRU are looking into it but European tier 2 rugby is not under their remit. European rugby are trying to squirm out by saying referees are selected well in advance by an independent panel

At what point did no one look at it and think there may be a conflict of interest here

The only thing good about Rugby is being the pretty one in the showers.

Been a rugby man all my life. Follow it a lot, though mainly down south where I live. Last Saturday my local was full of mainly English with 2 Scots, 3 Irish, 5 Welsh and a lone Frenchman. Everybody getting very drunk together, all happy and jolly.

Followed Scotland a lot too and occasionally the Glasgow Warriors. Never seen a hint of any scheidt of any description.

Not denying this happened, it probably did. Not saying it doesn't happen in some local clubs, especially in certain parts of the country. I can't speak for them because I haven't been a member of a local Scottish club for 35 years. I never came across any of it back then and I suspect I'd have to travel far to find it now.

For anyone to tar a whole sport with this scheidt is cowardly, but no more than you might expect from the bone idle Scottish sports media who have probably picked up on some Facebook post and trumpeted it as bona fide journalism.
