Where do we begin ?
Well firstly, it must be the first time in my 45 years existence Iāve looked at a Scotland team sheet and thought Iāve no idea who half the players are or what the formation is.
...and it turns out neither did the players. We have a lot of great talent in the SPFL yet only 1 spfl Player started
We were defensive to midfield heavy the 1st 45. No urgency . No press.
Are we sure this was a new managerās 1st game in charge ? Cos there was no one eager to impress. No width. No energy. No idea.
Surely had to chamge it 2nd half. Must be a new 11. Surely ? Nope. More of the same.
The team was so narrow. Crying out for natural width.costa rica struggled with every cross ball. We won every header in their box. Get Murphy and Forrest on., no ? Alas no. Only 3 subs used in a friendly we were losing . Not only that, the ineffective McBurnie was replaced by a winger to leave us without a striker. Yes, no striker in a friendly we were losing
Does it get more disappointing than that as a 1st game. No. It doesnāt bode well. Utter mess of a team; shape and tactics. Forget 2020: it aināt happening with McLeish in charge

As for Grant Hanley continuing to accrue Scotland caps ... sorry, but just naw! What are we learning from that? We’ve known for years he’s mince.

I wouldn't exactly call him mince, but he's two gears slower than a snail. Commands the air well but against pace he is utter garbage.
