He also scored regularly in the Champions League, and at international level. In both he had a 1 in 2 (give or take) goalscoring record.

Absolute nonsense. Shearer was not a regular scorer in the CL.

7 in 16 - that is regular scorer. As I said, give or take, he had a 1 in 2 record in the CL and in international football (30 in 63).
21 in 31 in the UEFA Cup, 1 in 2 in the CWC - so his European record was 29 in 49.

Dier is hugely important player to Spurs. He does alot of the work that you don't see. Filling in for wing backs or a CB. Cam also chip in with the odd goal. Very underrated player even by Spurs fans. As an outsider, is suggest that for Liverpool to take that next step, Henderson would be one of the first to be upgraded. I like him, comes across well and is a neat and tidy player but nothing exceptional.

Dier certainly is underrated.

I do not think he is the best DM at Spurs, or the best CB, or the best RB.

He is a good mixture of all three though, and that flexibility is what often allows us to play in such a fluid way. He is the empty slot in the slide puzzle.

Agree

1. are england organised? no

2. is the a clear system of play? no

3. Is the a committed core of players? nope (sorry but theres not as they all cry off and you need 14-16 guys wokring together for 12/18 months of 1 week meet ups to be a team)

4. is there a style thats recognizable? nope.


For me this is same old same old rock up at the last minute, start training 4 weeks out form world cup and hope a team emerges.

We will have the usual rubbish where a maguire or someone emerges and is push as "must play" then the first game we get v a decent side we get hammered.

Can't be too bad because The Netherlands just thrashed the European champions 3-0, didn't we beat The Netherlands? England might be better than you think.
