Mane

Booked for diving, not even close to being fouled.

Will wait for Liverpool fans to come and apologise about this

He was fouled but went down too late.

Kind of a half dive, the same as Alli has done this season on occasion.

It was a dive at the time, but he was fouled a split second before it.

Difficult for officials to judge those situations.

It was a clear dive for me. However if he timed it better, he would have got a penalty as he was fouled.

I'm not sure why Spurs fans are pointing the dive out however considering they are the team known for diving the most in the league.

Perhaps trying to justify their players actions? I don't know but seems strange to me, especially considering they get penalties for it and we didn't even get one for Mane's.

It's not all. Just some. I suspect it's because they've been giving it large and can't stand the thought of finishing below us.

As Steve Nichol once said - if a player is gently punched but throws himself on the floor, do we ask the referee not to punish the player delivering the punch? Of course we don’t.

Same with Beckham at France 98. Simeone made a meal of it but everyone still blamed Beckham.

The idea that a foul is not a foul when a player reacts over the top is warped logic.

I’d personally like to have seen the penalty given and a stern word for Mane. That would have been top refereeing.

i agree. and refs really have to call fouls when the players dont fall down but are kicked to bits. this might actually help cut down the diving. managers like poch telling his players to fall over at the slightest contact aren't helping.

I’ve seen it now, it was a dive. Stood up to the initial contact and then decided to fall over a second or so after it took place, so he essentially fell over by his own choice as opposed to the contact taking him down.

Don’t see why that’s so difficult for some (not all) Liverpool fans to admit without turning it into ‘well Alli dived 6 weeks ago’ or whatever.

I thought that's what this article was about? You say our players dove, look what Mane did.

Spurs fans aren't making sense to me. It seems like they say anything that sounds accurate even of it isn't.

The article itself is Spurs fans doing what Ledders is saying but he can't see it.

I haven't seen a Liverpool fan making this about Alli diving either.
