Not a big darts fan, but Eric certainly did more than most to make it a popular TV sport.
First remember seeing a documentary about him as a B movie thing at the pictures when I was a kid. Getting old.

Just realised tha Bristow was only 60. Phil Taylor only 3 years younger.
Yet Bristow was last world champion about 30 years ago and taylor could probably still compete now.
Must have peaked really early.

Met the big fella in the cue ball, rutherglen at a charity pool event.
Always hated him and liked Jocky Wilson.
Came across as an arrogant cant on the TV.
He was anything but.
Very nice and polite and a great laugh, good pool player too.
