Huge game today

Wouldn’t normally worry about Spurs so much (as Keane once said as a roast of that club when we were losing at half time - ‘Lads, it’s Spurs’ and we went on to win the game’) but after that shocking performance at Wembley a few weeks back where I didn’t see that result coming, today is going to be a tough one.

It’s a strange one. We are a strange side - capable of beating Liverpool and City where few can do either but then we can lose our shiiiit against smaller sides too. I’ve seen it said before that losing to West Brom might have in some perverse way been a blessing in disguise as it’s given our players a bit of a kick up the ass after the City game where we probably spent all week believing the good press and just lowered our performance levels.

Today any result wouldn’t surprise me. Spurs are a very good side who are very capable of beating us. But this is a cup semi final and Jose is the king of cup wins so he knows how to navigate them. If we do go out today I hope it’s because Spurs were the better side rather than us leaving our best game on the training ground.

I’d go with this side...

DDG
Valencia Smalling Bailly Young
Herrera Matic Pogba
Lingard Lukaku Rashford

Hopefully our defence don’t have a mare vs Spurs at Wembley again.

Just realised we haven't conceded a goal in this competition. We could be first side since Bury of 1903 to win it without conceding.

On the train now heading down to Wembley, set to be a cracking day. Feeling optimistic.

Hopefully Sanchez benched, Herrera, Rashford/Martial and Lingard to start.

2-1 united 😎

Lukaku scored in every round so far. Hope he’s fired up today and gets a couple

Spurs will be tough to beat a Wembley, no question. I think we’ll be negative, but will grind out a 2-1 win. Stakes are high.

I'm not that confident. We can beat them. We are good enough to. But games like WBA and Sevilla make me question the players and manager's mentality.

We need to match Spurs for energy. At this stage of the season we should be fresher than they are. No excuses not to play with the same effort they do.

Dips doing their best to make sure we come second

Hmmmmm

if lingard, herrera, bailly and rashford all play (as OP suggests) United will get outplayed all over the place and quite possibly thrashed.

hopefully not going to happen, but then I live in hope

for a start, without Mata, United are limited. With those 4 named United are weak
