Simple question, what is valued more now to the fans? Finishing in the top 4, or winning a trophy?
There are obviously many factors behind it, finance, "big club" status, attraction of players etc. The list is virtually endless of both clearly have their positives. But which one is worth more to a fan nowadays?
For me personally, 10 years ago I'd have said trophy, but now that business is beginning to rule the game, I must say that the top 4 is a bigger achievement than a trophy now for most clubs, purely basing it off finances and the attraction of players. It's a much different ball game now than what it was 10-15 years ago+ and much more needs to be taken into consideration. The big example, if Arsenal didn't finish in the top 4 for them consecutive seasons with the stadium debts they would have to pay off, think where they might have been today. I can only see Spurs heading down the same route imo. Obviously both clubs I feel would want both a trophy and top 4 now they are becoming much more established members of the top 4. But what means most to the fans?

I'd take winning any cup ahead of missing out on a season of CL football.

Achieving top 4 is more important than winning the premiership imo. Just ask Leicester fans, they've been miserable since they won the prem.

Fair play, as I said earlier this subject always splits opinion. Having watched us just miss out on qualification on quite a few occasions (lasagne gate and 2012 and all that) it feels great that we are becoming regulars in the cl and the dosh won't do us any harm either.

Yeh, onto the World Cup now. Today was the last match I will be watching until the World Cup starts. Quite fancy Belgium to go a long way. There are a lot very overated sides like the French in this year`s tournament.

Top 4. Of course I want a trophy, but if we were winning the league cup and finishing 6th then I wouldn’t class that as a successful season. We need the revenue to make us more competitive so top 4 is vital.

top 4 was crucial for us as we move into the new stadium with CL football.... hopefully the combination of the two is enough to keep our best players.... any season from now on where we don't qualify for the CL we become very vulnerable to losing players.... that said.. trophies need to come, and they need to come soon.

Poch has again refused to confirm whether he'll be with us next season prior to crucial talks with DL. I'm talking about a steady coach before thinking about trophies.
