i want to focus on this one after the article below about players leaving as it is an area that is critical and one where I think we can improve.
At the moment we have Cech, Ospina, Macey and Martinez on the books.
Cech first of all is out injured and in some reports I read he had been carrying an injury. I dont know how long he has been carrying it but it may explain some of his poorer performances. If he can get over it he may be worth keeping for another season.
Ospina worries me. He is short for a keeper which has been costly at times. I think his biggest weakness is controlling the box and we saw glimpses of that yesterday against Huddersfield (although he didnt concede). I think he could be improved on fairly easily. He is certainly not good enough as 1st choice in my opinion.
Macey I havent seen enough of to have an opinion.
Martinez when he played briefly last season impressed me in one area. His controlling of the box. He is very imposing at that so I would like to see him given more of a chance. I also thought in those few minutes that his shot stopping looked on a par with Ospina and he has age on his side and can improve with experience. I'd like to see him kept at the club next season and maybe 2nd or 3rd choice with some cup games.
So for next season I would like a new first choice, Butland is being mentioned by some fans and should be an easy target to get. Cech and Martinez as back up. I dont think that is too unrealistic.
What would you like to see happen with keepers for next season, and keep it realistic.

Sven wants Leno, with Horn as first alternative.
Martinez needs to decide if he wants to be a #1 or career back up. He is 26 in September, not sure there is much point keeping him as a 3rd choice. "can improve with experience" - won't get that playing back up to a new #1 and Cech, will he...
Better off giving the role to a younger keeper and not use up a squad place.

Still cannot believe we let Szczesny go. Should have ditched Ospina and kept hold of shezzer to rotate against Cech

Szczesny was better than all of them - Cech turned out to be past it when he arrived - he’s not total rubbish now though, just very mediocre. Ospina is at that same level too, he’s much more athletic but a bit less solid and a bit weaker.
Martinez looks worth keeping, Macy I haven’t seen play enough - but Cech & Ospina should definitely be sold.

From the little I have seen of him he has the potential to be the best Arsenal keeper at controlling the area since Seaman. In his brief playing time he already looked as commanding a Lehman imo. It impressed me.
