Martial doesn't make the cut for France

The think is, he wouldn't be if we played him on the right, and he is perfectly capable of playing there.

Nah this was apparent watching Sterling at Liverpool. He has a lot to his game but lacked consistency. He’s come on leaps and bounds under Pep but he possessed a lot of very good tools to become a dangerous attacker prior to playing under Pep. Martial on the otherhand is very one dimensional. He’s fantastic when it works but when he’s off it he doesn’t do enough to trouble defences the way Sterling does.

Martial has a cool head on him when it comes to finishing, Sterling doesn’t. But Sterling scores so many as his movement is exceptional, Martial’s isn’t.

I take the point about the formative years of a player’s development but some things are difficult to coach and there has to be an acceptance from the player to work hard to improve these aspects of their game. I’ve not seen anything from Martial to suggest he wants to work hard - either for team, or to improve himself.

This is why he’s not a Pep player and wouldn’t work well under him,in my opinion.

One thing I feel Martial sorely lacks is mental fortitude and something all greats have and ultimately might prevent him from hitting the heights many hope.

Rashford has it btw. As does Sterling.

Yeah has a bit of Anelka about him.

There is a thrust or belief that is apparent in peps handling of sterling that just isn't there from Jose toward martial and lets be honest it hasn't been from the time Jose took over.
