Worried about next season or is it just me?

It was a great win yesterday in the final of the FA Cup. But I couldn't help but turn my attention to the transfer market and next season. I feel like I might just be very pessimistic regarding the outlook of the club but who can blame a fan the way things are going at the moment.

New manager

Firstly, I noticed how none of the players really backed Conte, nobody celebrated with the manager apart from Azpilicueta a bit and when a few of the players were asked about his future, it didn't seem like they wanted him to stay. To be honest, I don't blame the players for acting that way as Conte has been talking down on them and shown a lack of professionalism by seeming disinterested as Cahill said it all had a impact on the Premier League.

Next season, we need a new manager, we should no way in hell stick with Conte for his final season. Yes, he is a great manager but he isn't the right manager for us. If we were to keep him then the players will not play for him after what has happened and they are not fond of his tactics and Hazard would not stay if he was to remain.

It would be amazing if we were to appoint from within and get Joe Edwards or Jody Morris but we know that isn't happening. I am all in for Sarri, simply for his style of play and feel like it would be a step in the right direction at least even though there are question marks over his rotation. I wouldn't mind appointing a wildcard, someone less known. But however, I believe Jardim is the ideal coach for our board, the guy has his Monaco team dismantled and still he has them doing well, he doesn't complain with a lack of say on transfers, always gives the youth a chance so coaching our youth would be like a dream for him so we could honestly take some major strides under him.

Signings

On to the signings for next season now, I know it's early days for rumours and what not but Liverpool are apparently meant to have a deal for Fekir agreed already, now that is a player we should be signing. I really envy Liverpool at the moment, Klopp is doing a wonderful job for them, playing amazing football, making the signings to compete, if they can prove defensively then they can be compete for the title at least next season maybe so fair play to them.

Hazard and Courtois have said that it depends on our ambition whether they stay or not so the board really need to spend this summer to get them to commit. My gut feeling is telling me that Hazard will go, when Madrid come in for him, playing under his idol Zidane will be too good of an opportunity to turn down for him and it is not like we will go out and spend like crazy to convince him. Now, this is what worries me, with the new stadium being built, I don't think the club has the finances like City and United to get involved in bidding wars and spend big money on the wrong players like Morata.

I personally feel like we at least 4 players, a right winger, striker to replace Morata if Michy isn't no1, central midfielder and a right back.

Courtois
Azpi Christensen Rudiger Emerson
RLC Kante Seri
Bailey Icardi/Michy Hazard

That is just an example of what we potentially do, I feel like Pedro is finished now so move him on, Willian as a back up to Bailey who is a Chelsea fan and has great potential, on the left, have Hazard with CHO as back up to him, giving RLC first team would be what he deserves with Bakayoko around the mix (I believe he will still come good, especially under Jardim), maybe even have Mount for Europa.

All in all, I feel like this is such a crucial summer for us, we can't afford to make any mistakes, we need to get everything spot on, from DOF, manager, signings, departures, etc. We will know what direction we are going when the window closes whether we are going to become the next Arsenal or we will look to compete for the title again.

I've had my say so now I want to know what you guys think about the summer and next season..

- Who should we have as manager and why?

- Do you reckon we can convince Hazard and Courtois to stay?, if so, what signings would you make?

- What would your team maybe look like next season?

He doesn't directly contribute to enough goals to warrant that attitude.

You're also assuming his only positions in 433 or 4231 are out wide + we couldn't accommodate him anyway. He can play false 9 in the 433, stick Azpl & Kante on his flank and he could play wing without an urgent need to track back. Can play behind the striker in 4231, get him in the link up a bit more. We have options basically.

Knew you would go there. I was on that other thread, remember that exact comparison

Having a system that neglects your need to track back is one thing, but if you make demands to not help out the team tracking back, then you effectively need the goal/assist return of a striker to justify it, as they're typically the only players who don't track back into their own half however defensive the manager is. When Ronaldo clashed with Mourinho over that, fair enough. Hazard? Nah.

If he truly felt like that, which is guess work btw, then he's better off leaving quite frankly. He'll have outgrown us in his own mind.

Playing false 9 in Conte's 343 and an attacking oriented manager's 433 (Sarri's for example) is completely different. Conte's teams have always operated with a focal point of attack - Llorente, Morata, Pelle, Costa, Giroud - so it's hardly surprising he couldn't get a false 9 working properly. Look at the job Sarri has done with Mertens, your telling me Hazard couldn't fill that role in that setup?

Other players of his quality dont have to put yp with that BS.
-----------------------------------------------------------
Salah has happily engaged in the defensive work and outscored Hazard by almost triple this season despite being the inferior all round player with players around him who aren't that much better than our own. That would be Hazard's ego, not principle. And again, conjecture.

Just because he's our most creative player wouldn't entitle him to more than he's worth. He's not on that Suarez/Bale level in terms of impact and influence on their clubs (he's our Sanchez), if he was on that level we'd have at least finished 4th this year even with that average squad.

The issue isn't Hazard's ego (it would be if he behaved as you said), it's you declaring that Hazard WILL leave if he's asked to tracked back by our new manager with absolutely no evidence.
