Now I have calmed down my analysis..

What can I say I enjoyed the cockiness of Liverpool reaching the CL final.. I genuinely believed Madrid were there for the taking.. Salah injury was a shame and the players lost their game plan when he went off that was mental weakness but still held our own without him Sadie Mane especially stepped up.. Real Madrid being Real Madrid that Gareth Bale goal maby not as good but out of the blue brilliant is always likely out of nothing.. But after all the hard work, amazing performances and genuine class route to the final to lose it basically through two Sunday league goalkeeper clangers bothers me 1000 times more than if we got pumped and beat 3-1.. I thought Karius was really improving but lack of experience showed.. Sign some more leaders and this team will be back in a CL final again soon.. Sad times but can’t argue with the end result.. Madrid are good enough without throwing two goals in..

Next year will not be our year either league terms positive of further cup runs.. And the Klopp losing finals stat is a shame because luck really wasn’t with him tonight with that Salah injury and half Laurel half hardy in the goal.. If anything is his weakness as a manager is he shows to much faith in certain player who are not good enough..

Karius as sad as that was to see should never be Liverpool’s number one or even pull that shirt on again...

Klopp said in the build up that we needed to be brave to beat RM. He was right and for 30 mins we were, pressing them into errors and looking the better side.

Then Salah got injured and that bravery just disappeared. That belief and confidence disappeared. We dropped back and RM took over.

You just can plan for the brilliance of Bale’s goal and you just can’t legislate for the two horrendous mistakes from Karius. But to be really honest, we’d already conceded control of the game by that point.

I would love to have known how the brave and confident Liverpool would have done over 90 mins. Might have lost anyway but at least we’d know.

With Karius, I think it’s almost impossible not to feel for the guy. He was distraught. As a footballer he’s going to have to be incredibly strong for this game not to define his career. The glare of the media will be on him every game next season. Every opposition fan will be taunting him and some of our own will want him out. Genuinely tough position to be in. Can’t help but thing a move out of Britain might be for the best.

Im not going to be upset if we bring in another keeper, but i feel its all a bit harsh on karius.

Hes made 147 senior appearances is all, and found himself in a CL final, not many keepers make it to that stage while so inexperienced. If it happened in any other competition he would get a chance to redeem himself.

Also feel our keeping coach deserves some blame. Turned reina to cra p then we have had a succession of keepers making very basic errors

Salah going off to the wind out of our sails. We pressed them and forced them into mistakes and we’re playing my well. I think our heads dropped after the injury and we let them back into it. Don’t think you can fault any of the outfield players though for the effort.

It’s obvious we need a new keeper plus some strength in depth to come off the bench this summer.

To be fair, before Salah's injury I thought it was just a matter of time before you took the lead.

But IMO it wasn't just Salah going off, but also that you lost any width when Lallana came on. For some reason you went from a 433 that was stretching Madrid to this narrow kind of 442. Completely lost your ability to counter after that.

I know you didn't really have any other options (not sure if Ings was injured?) But I think you probably would've been better off putting Moreno ahead of Robertson and moving Mane to the right.

Robertson your young LB put it correctly.

Win as a team, lose as a team. Support from the lad for the keeper.

Karius will be shipped out as soon as they get the chance. The same happened to Riise when he scored that own goal that essentially knocked them out of the CL.

Lallana killed our momentum as he always does these days, out of form, short of fitness and a square peg for a round hole when bought on for a forward, he drifts back too far isolating the other forwards, doesnt have the pace we use to exploit the backline of others.

some of his decision making is bizarre, hes had 6 good months for us since moving here, playing in midfield for klopp while coutinho was injured

Id have rather seen solanke last night, decent pace, scored in his last game, physical presence and plays far forward.
