Rangers - Realistic signings you would make

It appears we have signed Ejaria this morning and according to reports the fee agreed with Brighton for Connor Goldson from between 3m and 3.5m to add to the already signed McGregor, Arfield and Murphy.

It had me thinking in our current position which players would you go after if you were in Gerrard's brown brogues? Which players would you be shifting out and what would your squad look like going into the first game?

We are well stocked in goal. McGregor would be first choice for me, a legend at the club, off the back of a player of the season award at Hull City.
Foderingham has been a decent servant but I would move him on if we can get in the region of 3m. Alnwick stays as second choice and a path is cleared for young Robbie McCrorie into the first team squad.

At left back we have John, Wallace and Beerman all capable of that role. Beerman isn't up to it imo so he gets punted. I would call time on Wallace too, give him a chance to try his hand down south. So that leaves John who i would rather have as back up, so in that respect I would look at signing Massimo Haidara on a free from Newcastle he's only 25, looks a decent player when i've seen him too.

At CB, Alves, Cardoso and Goldson* leave us at least a man short. I think Cardoso deserves a chance and unless someone is paying for Bruno he stays as he should be useful with someone with the pace of Goldson covering for him. We need another option, Kyle Bartley is the man for me.

Tavernier goes in as first choice RB and captain for me. Hodson must go this summer, he's not good enough. So that would leave a space at RB cover but as opportunities will be few for that role in the squad i wouldn't bring anyone in instead using Jack as cover here.

We are well stocked in CM with McCrorie, Rossiter, Dorrans, Holt, Docherty, Jack, Halliday and Ejaria.
It's the end of the line for Holt and Halliday who must move on. Docherty i would entertain loan opportunities for.
Dorrans will need to prove himself pre-season after poor form post injury.
I would go out for another option in here, a more creative one (which Ejaria if successful may be) I can't put my finger on who that would be but i'm sure Gerrard will be aware of one or put more trust than i'm willing to into Ejaria.

On the left we have Murphy, Dodoo, Arfield and Forrester. Harry is a pie and must go, Dodoo never really got a fair crack of the whip so wouldn't be against him staying as he can cover up top too.

On the right Candeias, O'Halloran, and Middleton. O'Halloran would be first out the door. Would love Harry Wilson on loan, looks to have that x-factor and would be imo a fantastic addition to us or Marcus Edwards from Spurs he's reportedly looking for an exit and is very highly rated.

No10, Windass, Pena, Arfield and Dorrans can all play this role. Big Pena is off on loan, the other 3 i would keep.

Up top Morelos, Herrera, Hardie (if he's been given a new contract). Herrera has been honking and will be sent back to Mexico surely, Hardie i think will move on although i'd keep him. To strengthen here Solanke on loan would do if Hardie is staying and Dodoo can cover.

Dundee isn't the Highlands, neither is Aberdeen

Fort William to Inverness is the border to the highlands. I'm a Highlander, complete with teuchter accent

This is how I imagine public schoolboys would romance one another

I prefer to imagine Rachel Riley and the blonde Scottish bird off of Sky Sports news naked wrestling in a paddling pool filled with jelly.

But that's just me I guess

Thought it was Oban across to Aberdeen was the “fault” line? 🤔

Looked it up, to be fair i thought i started further North than that map shows. You's can have Oban, we don't want it.

Not as much as don't want Aberdeen, we've curved that line especially to avoid it.
