Streamed live on Wolves TV? - Yes
After returning from their training camp in Switzerland and with Uhrencup Trophy in place in the Molineux trophy cabinet, Wolves first game of the season on home soil will see them travel to the Bank’s Stadium in Walsall to take on Dutch giants AFC Ajax.
Wolves squad have now been bolstered by the return of the players who were involved in the World cup. Romain Saiss makes a welcome return and although Ruben Vinagre also returns after signing a permanent contract following his season on loan from Monaco, he will be unavailable for this game as he is currently away with the Portugal U19 squad. Wolves fans are eagerly awaiting the first appearance of new signings Rui Patricio and Raúl Jiménez and hopefully this game will give the fans a taste of what these players can bring to the team.
Ajax, led by manager Erik Ten Hag are a club, like Wolves, with a rich heritage and a proud past. But also like Wolves, the height of their success was some years ago. The last time they won the Eredivisie title was in 2014, being beaten into second place last season by PSV. Nevertheless, Ajax are one of the 3 major clubs in the Netherlands along with PSV and Feyenoord. Ajax have won more Eredivisie league titles than anyone with 25.
With a capacity of only 11,300 the stadium is likely to be packed for this game with the Wolves’ fans who manage to get off work for the afternoon only having a short journey to Bescot. The ones that who can’t get away from work have the option to watch the game on Wolves TV on their works computer when the boss isn’t looking!!!

Matt Doherty the only player who played 90 minutes highlights the fact that we still don't have a back-up for him. Surely this will be addressed before the start of the season.

Decent game in the first half, but flat after the break. Wolves created more openings than Ajax with Jota close to winning the game with a header late on. All our regulars looked comfortable against this quality of opposition and nobody impressed more than Ryan Giles

Agree with that DJ. I also thought Goncalves looked decent and Saiss looked comfortable at the back.
Shame for Beny Ashley-Seal who made a couple of mistakes at vital times but I'm sure Nuno will give more chances during the pre-season
