Pre-season

Seems a bit of a mess with the World Cup players having 3 weeks off and missing most of it, even the ones that didn't kick a ball like Fred etc

To add to that, one of our key players for the start of the season (having missed the WC) in Sanchez has to train alone at Carrington as he couldn't get a visa sorted out for the tour. I know pre-season is mainly about fitness and he can work on that here, but it's far from ideal.

Think Jose said none of the WC players (that went far into the comp) would start the Leicester game, so could see some youngsters on the bench.

Looking forward to seeing Pereira this season. Think he has the ability to play a big part next season, shame Jose is in charge as he will probably opt for the far less talented McTominay.

Pereira looked tidy, if ineffective on the ball from what I saw last season.

But if he can be the link between midfield and attack, we can rely on Sanchez and Lukaku for the output.

I'm not up to speed on my interntional visa laws but how can someone like Sanchez not get a visa to go on a pre season tour to America when he's a registered player for united and has been plying his trade in Europe for years?

Like is there not some sort of deal in place that means the squad can travel on a sports club visa or something?

"The Chilean striker, 29, accepted a 16-month suspended jail sentence in February for tax fraud in Spain.

Under US law, no person found guilty of fraud can be granted a visa to enter the country."

"There is a waiver scheme and it is understood Sanchez is working with his lawyers in an effort to be granted access to the United States.

However, the process is taking longer than he hoped."

Maybe he'll join up with the squad later on, but it doesn't seem too likely.

Mourinho on not having whole squad present, "Yes the preseason is very bad, I have to say that. The only positive of this preseason is for the young boys who can train with us and have the chance to know what it is to be a Manchester United first team player."

Mourinho, "De Gea, Matic and Fred will come next week but everything is really bad. Then we go to the UK and have to play the PL and the broadcasters weren't nice for us by giving us the complicated Friday match. Honestly, I'm worried."

Well he’s got an excuse lined up if it goes tiiits up then.
