Lots of talk this morning that the United board have sanctioned a £65m move for Maguire who has been prioritised as their top target this window. While there’s nothing concrete yet reports say Leicester chiefs are concerned and have started to look at replacement options - one of which has been identified as Gary Cahill!
I personally think if United submit £65m and Maguire has his head turned then Leicester could well accept. It’s very good money for a player that still has some developing to do if we’re honest and I’m not sure Puel will want the kind of squad disruption that the Mahrez saga had last season.
I personally think spending that much on Maguire is premature for United, he still has a lot to learn defensively and but he’s a superb ball playing central defender. Would be a better fit for City in my opinion and his game would develop much better under Pep.

He would think past 5-7 years ahead instead of 1-2. Signings like alderwiered and Sanchez would rarely come up. Look at man city and how they sign players. I get the feeling they played us into signing Sanchez knowing our lack of common sense in our purchases. Showed interest and made us act out of insecurity.
The reality is teams are getting younger and yet better and this comes from someone not trying to buy experience rather buying talent and Give them experience.

As for us, our side is hardly getting older. Over the past couple of years we’ve supplemented the odd older signing with players like Dalot, Bailey, Lindelof, Pogba and Lukaku amongst others under 25. Fred has just turned 25

He would probably improve our defence cos it’s trash but it doesn’t take away from the fact that he’s bang average
£65M for a big lump who can’t sprint or pass and has terrible positional sense. Leicester would be mental to reject it. Would love this deal to happen

Harry is very comfortable on the ball, can bring it forward well, but sometimes loses possession and as a result can get badly caught out of position. He's also not the best defensively. Worth £65M if Van Dijk is worth £75M though.
