Massive Gulf in quality between the two teams but we’re doing ok.

Usual stuff, look ok going forward and once again Ian bags a goal when he plays the forward role.

Defensive frailty and pedestrian midfield.

I think nearly every player has been mugged off at least twice by them.

Good work out though, hopefully not too many changes second half, it’s giving them a really good workout tonight.

Yes, second half it was virtually all us.

Quite happy with tonight's performance against a very good side. I'll be worried if we start against United with a back 4 of:

I thought it was a good performance TBH. Again, hard to judge friendlies too much, but on the face of it we did well. We looked pretty decent in the first half, Ian and Maddy linked up well, the wing backs were providing good runs and getting decent balls in to the box, and Diabate and Iborra who I haven't been impressed with had reasonably good games.

Harder to judge the second half with all the young players coming on. They certainly didn't embarrass themselves and definitely looked like they were trying to play their way into Puel's plans. Johnson, Elder and Gordon in particular looked really good.

Lots of moaning after the match about the performance and not going out to try and win. I didn't listen to RL (I'm currently on a family holiday in Hunstanton) but I understand that Stringer and Piper were trying to big up how disappointing it was, which is a shame as it really...wasn't? We were playing a bloody good side, the fourth best in Spain, and didn't look out of our depth. The ironic thing is, if we had gone all out and attacked, we would have probably conceded 3 or 4, and then fans would have been moaning about that. I suppose those who have already made their minds up about Puel will just continue to moan until he's gone, whether we get decent results or not.

Stringer seems to have a real downer on the Club at the moment, quite rude to Puel in his interview post match.

Some justification with how it might end up for the first couple of games with a lack of foresight in shortages on certain positions but who knew England would get so far, Maguire would shine and play so much at the WC.

The Club probably expected most players to have been back with plenty of time, could have had a plan B in place though.

Havn't listened to my mate yet, i can't see that its Puels fault we havn't got or shifted players out thats down to the club.
I think a lot of players will go down a division as last season and abroad. Puel will name his 25 for the EPL and i am sure Rudkin does not want another last minute fax moment.
Stringy probable still got the ache that RL did not let him cover the friendlies in Austria thats the first time RL haven't gone.
