Gerrard's Gers - The Squad, a ramble.

I've been happy with our start under Gerrard.

I thought Foderingham was a good keeper until i watched McGregor over the last few games and was reminded what a real difference maker between the sticks looks like. He's going to be vital on and off the park. I still think Fod would be a decent signing for a Championship side and shouldn't hang around as cover. Alnwick will do as back up and young Robbie McCrorie can hopefully be nurtured into a first team keeper before McGregor calls it a day

Flanagan has done well and is a solid addition, tough tackler and gives his all, might be a worry if he's going to play LB all season though. John is injured at the moment but i wouldn't expect him to come back to a starting LB role as he can leave us exposed.
Anyones guess what happens with Wallace, would not be surprised if he doesn't play for us again. Tav will no doubt have RB nailed down. Is Hodson still about? better leave if so.

Goldson and Katic have both impressed, both look solid, good positional sense. Katic looks a threat in the opposition box, 3 goals in 6 games i think now Goldson is so composed and leads the back 4 well, so it's going to be night and day defensively from last season. McCrorie looks to have been pushed down the pecking order in midfield, with us being so short at centre back i suspect that's where we will see most of Ross this season. Still need another CB.

Jack looked very good last night and i'd not had him down as a starter but he could well prove me wrong if he carries on like that.
Coulibaly adds plenty of energy, looks dynamic if a bit rusty but it's only pre-season.
Arfield, there should be more to come from him but he's looked a threat and a creator so he'll do well i'm sure of it.
Ejaria has shown some nice touches but probably too many loose passes, touches so far to convince me he should be starting for us yet. Would be a good option for us chasing a game or against a packed defence.

Will Dorrans be in the managers plans? i thought he had a decent couple of months at the start last season but was poor mostly post injury, we lack creativity and he can provide that spark so i would keep him and see if he can force his way into the 11.
Rossiter you would imagine was in the managers plans but it's difficult for people made out of glass to have a professional football career. He's at last chance saloon for me, if he can't stay fit for an extended period once he's next back it's time to call his career to an end for Rangers at the very least.
Docherty needs to go on loan, sank after a bright start in the team and needs to improve massively to have a long term role with us.
Halliday waits about, he's surplus to requirements but he's also a utility man so if he stays and fills in where we are short through injuries suspensions i won't complain. Until he starts v Celtic or something

In the attacking midfield postions we've used quite a few players already but on the right Candeias for work rate alone looks to be out in front. I like the guy but i've never been convinced of him as being enough of a threat going forward. Would like to see him skin a man once in a while and get a few more goals. Will need top performances to keep his place because Kent and Windass will be breathing down his neck.

On the left Kent looks to have the nod for the minute he's nice and direct, needs to be a bit more careful in possession but he's got tricks, a bit of pace and defenders will hate playing against him because of the directness. Murphy i expect to see more from the bench, hasn't looked quite as up to the press as the other players but as we seen last season can provide moments of magic and having him on the bench is a sign of improvement from Rangers because for the first time in a while we'll have decent players to come on and change a game.

Middleton is full of promise, hopefully continues to get regular chances.

Windass No10 position in the side seems to have been taken out so he'll fight for the wide positions i'd expect. Or maybe the more attacking CM role. I don't quite see where he fits at the moment though i hope he stays because he gets goals.

Up top the Colombian has the jersey, has looked bright in the last 2/3 games. Still worries around him being clinical enough in front of goal persist. I can't make up my mind on him, he's good at bringing other into play, holding the ball up and being a nuisance then on the other hand his touch is erratic, he's little pace, his composure is sketchy and his finishing very hit or miss. Right now as it stands, i don't think Morelos could lead the line for a title winning team but i think there are still signs he's improving but will need do to so fast.

Sadiq still an unknown quantity. Would like to think we'll see more of him soon.

1 CB and 1 CF needed and we're done. Head says comfortably second, heart says can't believe you stinkers read this far.

I'm not looking to be the arbiter on anything...if you think it's funny...crack on. I just find it dated and completely inappropriate and I HAVE stated that before irrespective of who posted it. As to my motives...I really can't be any clearer.

Well, what do you want? It *was* a joke. How else would you like me to put it?
I know it was a joke because I wrote it and I didn’t mean it at all seriously. Maybe I should have used a smiley. Laudrup and I joke at each other quite often. I never take him seriously and vice versa.
Apologies if that hasn’t been communicated well. I retract the comment.

That comment made me laugh, even though it was not meant to be a joke and it was not intended towards me.

Keep up the good work and remember to always clean up after you withdraw.... We run a tight ship round here.
