ffp

2 willies mentioned about mel morris and ffp .so here are two points to talk about
1.do you think football fair play should be scrapped or kept
2.do you think the transfer windows should be scrapped or kept
I think they are both restrictions of trade and should go.

FFP in theory is a good thing if the levels were across the board. But all it actually does is increase the gulf between the football league and premier league.

The transfer window this year is a farce, it should close for everyone before the season starts. By closin it early they have allowed players to now go on strike in order to force a move.

Well Wolves didn't adhere to it.

I would favour an overall salary cap and a cap of numbers of first team squad players, say twenty five or so, named before the start of the season and then those are the only ones who can play that season. An injured player could be replaced but the injured player would need to sit it out for a significant period, say 6 weeks minimum, to make sure that the injuries were genuine. It wouldn’t cure all ills but it might even it up a little bit and make the managers think about how best to use their players a bit more.

Aside from 2Willies utopian view of how football should be the window provides a certain amount of stability for a team. I'm fine with it going on in the closed season but if there has to be one in the new year it should only be a week of mayhem and not cause anxiety for a month as you hope to hang on to your best players.

The words Financial Fair Play wind me up because a relegated team with parachute payments has a ridiculous advantage over the rest of us so how can it be fair.
Also Prem owners are pretty unscrupulous and when then get relegated they sometimes asset strip the club and disappear. See Sunderland, Pompey, Coventry there is quite a list.
For me you can't have FFP and parachute payments so bin them both and if a club gets messed up after some sugar daddy has hsd his fun then blame the club for selling out to them in the first place.

I think the influx of bang average players who seem to hop from relegated club to relegated club hasn’t helped. Nor has huge salaries for young players who have yet to establish themselves, but this is the nature of the game now.

I don’t think 2 willies is being utopian. I have 2 hands.

I think ffp is designed to keep the current (so called) elite clubs at the top of the pile for ever tbh
