I thought Mendy had a good game, Chillwell probably man of the match. He's starter the season really well.

Good job Wolves are rubbish finisher or we would have lost about 8 - 2.
We wont get away with that every week.

Have to say, I’m not sure I thought Maddison was MOTM but I think I may be (perhaps unfairly) rating him against a super performance at Old Trafford which may have affected my expectations of him.

I think over the next few games dependent upon the results , some signs in this match will either be irrelevant or a continuation of worries that some fans have had.

I think Evans (who did look really slow at times) will settle and Mendy showed promise. My main concern is upfront in terms of supply and how Pereira and Chilwell will be in games where they really need to dig in and defend, but I imagine the latter of these we will see answered over the next few games.

Still, 3 points 3 goals with 1 clean sheet after two games I would have taken. And sometimes it’s worth stepping back and just looking at it from the purely statistically perspective....even if just for some sanity and optimism leading into the next game

Hmmm interesting. A few people were getting excited after a promising, but ultimately fruitless performance against Man Utd., but a always expected this to be more reflective of our current status.

Wolves last season and, so far this season, look a decent team. They move the ball well and still have the confidence they would have gained from last season. Newly promoted sides are always tricky to play early in the season. This test was as I expected - a hard one.

I think we have to give ourselves a little leeway. We were integrating different players and are still getting used to a new style. Evans is new to a partnership with Maguire and will no doubt get criticised for a mixed display - despite being pulled out of position for much of the first half because of the gaps left by our marauding full backs. I’m not sure we’ve quite worked out yet who covers who with FBs that bomb on.

Mendy was an interesting choice to start, but personally I think he did ok. He’s lively and keeps the ball moving well, but maybe lacks a bit of creativity. I was also happy with Gray. He still lacks end product at times, but his work rate has improved massively so he’s moving in the right direction.

Maddison? Not MoTM for me and I thought it took him a while to settle. I also think he needs to learn what sort of ball Vardy needs otherwise we may as well start with Ian instead - although that will happen anyway next game.

The red card didn’t look red from where I was sitting, but I’ve not seen it on video yet.

The game generally was one where, in the end, I was just happy to win. OK, we started very slowly, had all the luck in the first half and somehow managed to be 2-0 up. We looked like a side still feeling our way after the close season with new players, but I just feel there were signs we were starting to settle, Wolves weren’t doing much and then Vardy gets sent off. You can’t really judge a game after that as it’s just all hands to the pumps, but you could say we saw the game out well.

So, all in all, a mixed performance, but I’m not sure what we’ve learned. I’m still nervous about our overall direction under Puel but, for me, it’s too early to read much into those first two games. Today I’m just glad to get the early season win - after 10 games or so I might not feel so generous if the real cohesion we’re searching for remains as elusive as it’s been for some time.

I just want to know who’s kidnapped Diabate? He’s gone from guaranteed sub to not even been mentioned in interviews when talking about supply!

And whilst we’re on the tough questions, whats the average age of the starting 11 versus this time last year - must surely be a lot younger and that’s with our older players aging (ice chambers can’t help us here)
