I get the impression you got a group of supporters on here who were not bothered about signing players this summer and love to remind the fans that were bothered, every time Spurs win a game. You then have the other side of the spectrum where myself and a few others, who were not happy with our lack of ambition and felt more should of been done to combat what's going to be a long tough season, but at the same time very happy with the start we have made.
Let's get one thing clear, we are all supporters of the same club and regardless of opinions, we all feel the same way when we win games. I would rather my club win game after game, than me being right on Ja606 that's for sure. But let's just cut out the "told you so bed wetters " every single time Spurs win a game yeh?
We haven't won a trophy yet. Let's just get things into perspective here and enjoy this current run we are on. I don't think any supporter should be calling out others for being angry with this transfer window, until we actually achieve something as a club and win a trophy.
If by the end of the season, Spurs have finished top 4 and a trophy in the bag, I'll be more than happy to put my hands up and admit I was wrong for blowing my top in regards to the transfer window. Until then, I'm really enjoying our great start, plus the emergence of Lucas has been brilliant, but I am still of the opinion that we should of done more this summer. Time will tell over the course of the season. COYS

still dont want to have to rely on Sissoko and Llorente

Llorente to score the goal with the assist from Sissoko that wins us the title

Let's not kid ourselves, great start or not, we needed to sign a couple players if we truly are targeting the big trophies.
But it is good to see that we still have Wanyama Winks Lamela and Son to come back and make a real impact. If Rose can recover his form and fitness then that's a big plus on last season, Aldi too. If we just had some better quality instead of llorente and sisokko we'd be pretty damn strong with real depth.

my thoughts entirely, wanyama, lamela, winks seem to be too injury prone , come CL, FA cup time it will still be difficult, needed a couple of upgrades not extras

Don
good article.
if your articles across the summer had been as measured as this one then I wouldn't have had a go at you. the problem I have with you is not what your opinion is, its the way you come across... which is like a spoilt child who didn't get his way, and hurls abuse at the best chairman we have probably ever had because of it.
never had any doubt you were a spurs fan, just thought you were way OTT in your criticism due to lack of transfer activity...... the first 11 is excellent and the squad is good. improvements could have been made but obviously the management didn't feel that there was value out there.
at the moment you have to back them.
we will surprise a few teams this season !

I was disappointed at the lack of any signings, and it still might prove to cost us. What I would say is, there would be nothing more admirable than winning things having not spent any money, and would love to be proved wrong at the end of the season. For the neutrals, they should want for us to do well because it's surely got to be good for the game. Maybe other clubs could follow suit and not be so quick to spend big every season, if we do end up being successful.

It’s hard to make improvements when no one wants the players you need to sell.

how do you know that any signing coming in would work? we spent big on sissoko and it didn't work. we spent big on sanchez and it did work (in my opinion... jury still out for a lot of people)
Toby A and Moura really do both seem like new signings !

I think supporters who bemoan the lack of transfer activity at their club can still celebrate and admire the achievements of their team - especially on the back of such a big win at Old Trafford.
Having said that, i'm sure the conversation will flag up on your boards again should any of your key players - a la Kane, pick up a long term injury.
In the meantime, enjoy the ride.

We have proved that we can score without Kane so your point is irrelevant.
I said before the season started that improved form from lamely and Moura would be as good as new signings because we haven't seen the best of them yet. I was NOT happy with the names being mooted as new signings anyway so we are better without.

Lamela not lamely, auto correct.

You don't know for sure, but at least you're making an effort in trying to improve the team, and make no mistake there is improvement to make when we've still got Sissoko in the squad. It's not like not spending any money was the plan all along, at least not for Poch anyway. He will have wanted to bring some players in.
Sissoko was just a panic buy. We spent big on a player who didn't have a particularly good season. If you're spending on someone a bit more proven who has done well then there's a better chance they come good I guess, and if our big money signings are more hit than miss then it's more a matter of our scouting not being good enough. It doesn't mean big spending can't work out for us.
