Movies I've seen recently

Have had a bit of a mixed bag. Highlights include:

Bone Tomahawk - really great take on the Western. Flew under the radar for me and really glad I got around to watching it. Brutal as the get though. Great acting throughout.

Summer of '84 - will get compared to Stranger Things and rightly so. But it holds it own and I prefer how dark it gets compare to the show. I nice little indie horror film that could've probably benefited from a few more months of writing.

Mile 22 - I went in expecting to hate it but wanted some dumb fun with action. I got exactly that and a little more. It was definitely fun but slightly more clever and didn't take itself too seriously. Definite recommend for action lovers.

Not for me:

Searching - gimmick, cheesey, corny, predictible. Hated it. I seriously don't get where the ratings are coming from.

Happytime Murders - half-baked. Never quite got there. Funny-ish but could've used more months in preproduction.

What about you guys?

I liked HappyTime murders tbh, thought it was really well done.

I went to see The Meg recently and that was surprisingly not sheite.

The Meg was fun! The only thing I was disappointed about was the funny Asian dying off so quickly. He and his buddy would've been great to have throughout.
