One match ban enabled
Well, memories eh? It's a long time since we've played Swansea and a longer time since we've managed to beat them?
This is the start of our 'no left back saga' we completed the league programme on 75 points in 6th place; Swansea finished 3rd only 5 points above us, but a far superior goal difference.
Have we forgotten?
Nil nil at the City Ground for the first leg was followed by a decisive 3-1 loss at the Liberty Stadium; Earnshaw scored our consolation, before Darren Pratley scored a third in the 93 minute.
We did beat Derby 5-2 though so the wee Glaswegian did deliver some joy in his first stint. He also won Manager of the Month for January.
Wes Morgan was named in the Championship Team of the Season.
The Swans are now managed by Graham Potter and look to have Barry Mackay fit after he missed the trip to Millwall.
W 2, D2, L1 and sit in 7th on 11 points.
"Swansea City's owners have warned it could take years for the club to return to the Premier League as they confront the "harsh reality" of relegation.
An austere summer has seen the Swans cut costs to cope with the financial implications of dropping down to the Championship, with several players leaving as the club pays for it's costly and unsuccessful "bets" in the transfer market in recent years.
Steve Kaplan and Jason Levien, who bought a controlling stake of 68% in Swansea in 2016, admit they have made "mistakes" during their two years in charge - but they have ruled out selling the club.
The American businessmen have also revealed they are considering putting equity into the club - by buying more shares, possibly from the Supporters' Trust - in order to help absorb losses related to relegation.
Swansea's financial struggles have been compounded by a summer in which they have failed to recoup the transfer fees they had hoped to for players leaving.
Having budgeted for much more, the Swans received a combined total of only around £30m for the departures of defenders Alfie Mawson and Federico Fernandez, forward Jordan Ayew, centre-backs Jordi Amat and Kyle Bartley, midfielder Sam Clucas and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski."

According to Wikipedia we beat em 3-1 early in the season with two goals from Lewis McGugan and one from Radoslaw Majewski.

Just seen the hi-lights on Quest; Grabban was non existant.

Watched the game. Gueddy made the difference in midfield. Instantly reformed his partnership with Colback.
Grabban the only real weak link. He looked his fittest yet though. When the Spurs loanee CB came on it was game over. He was never getting past that beast!
Speaking of beasts. Janko!!!! He should be fighting GGG today. Sign. Him. Up.
At least a draw against Sheffield Wednesday and a win against Rotherham (the NY all-stars!) should see us around top ten.
That's all we really expected this far into the season right?
Another cracking away point (although we deserved the win). Slowly ticking off those difficult Away games. Just need to get the goals!!!

Wednesday fought back well for a 2-2 draw with Stoke so can’t be taken lightly. Rotherham were given a helping hand hy the Sheep today. Not the best away from the NYS so Forest need to take advantage of that.

We seemed to be solid at the back without playing defensively which is somewhat or a rarity for us.
A point away in the championship is a steady result, as long as we make up the difference against shefW and/or Rotherham.

I think if a couple of Osborn’s chances had fallen to Lolley then we would have been discussing a very decent away win.

Osborn’s goal return is what is stopping him being talked of as a possible Prem player. Swung wildly at that last chance in the second half after Dias found him well in acres of space. Needs to get some composure in front of goal to be seriously considered for that advanced three.

I think Osborm was badly off shooting form. He has had a lot less chances per game at left back and put them away.

I watched the whole game on Ifollow last night.
I thought Danny Fox was our MoM, hardly put a foot wrong all game and made a brilliant diving clearing header. The German looks very assured most of the time. Pantilimon had a better game and was quick off his line to snuff out Swansea break out's.
Grabban ended up dropping into an inside right position in order to get on the ball; he didn't like playing a lone role up front and needs a strike partner imo.
I would like to see both Grabban and Murphy start in the same line up, possibly at home.
On another day we might have scored at least two goals.
Osborn had a clear chance late on that he should have at least kept on target; but we're judging him on one game in midfield. This team will settle given more time and the goals will come, we just need to be patient.

They’ve just had two weeks of clear training so you would hope that they have the system kind of nailed down now. Grabban seems like a shadow of the player that ripped up the league last season. Bit of a head scratcher. Really needs to show something in these next two home games or the murmurs will only increase. He has shown in the past that he is a quality finisher. Karanka needs to work out how to increase the number of chances created in front of goal. Hopefully the Janko and Cash combination down the right hand side can be the key to getting some decent crosses into the box.

Have seen plenty of Forest strikers struggle initially at the club. The likes of Collymore and Johnson took varying amounts of time to hit their stride in the Garibaldi. Nobody was complaining when they did, apart from the opposition...
