One of our former players, Stephen Darby, has had to retire aged 29 after being diagnosed with motor neurone disease. Very sad news indeed, this is a grim disease. Can't wait until they find a successful treatment for it.
All the best to the lad for the future.

Terrible disease at such a young age too.

Really sad, just read about it. The worst thing about it is probably how the survival rate from around 10 years of being diagnosed with it is so low.

Been a few MND cases in footballers/ex footballers recently. Dreadful disease, hope they find a cure or a way to slow it down at least.

Fernando Ricksen springs to mind as a player that also had this awful condition
Best wishes, prayers and love to him and his family

Sickening disease for the poor lad and anyone else who’s had to suffer this.

Yeah Ricksen has reached the stage where he needs to use his eyes to control a computer in order to communicate. Horrible, horrible disease.
