The last time we faced Rotherham was January 2017 at the City Ground; that encounter yielded a 2-0 win curtesy of two goals from Brit Assombalonga.

There are only three players left in the squad from that game, namely Cash, Osborn & Danny Fox.

Rotherham under Paul Warne have won three against Derby, Millwall & Ipswich and lost the rest. They have conceded 13 goals so far with a G/D of -7.

I expect Forest to score a hatfull!

Just got background the CG, and feel pretty similar to how I felt on Wednesday. Both the Wendies and Rotherham are quite defensively minded teams, but by perseverance and good substitutions we managed to get 6 points, we have certainly played better and not won, but as we said earlier we need to find a way to ‘win ugly’. Last season I doubt we would have won either game. I feel we at least have a few positives to build on, defensively we look much better, one goal conceded in 3 games, and that was an awful deflection. We seem more organised when facing free kicks and corners, and the fact that AK now appears to have established his main players can only help with consistency, the defence more or less picks itself. The midfield needs some more creativity and to link better with Grabban, who seems a bit isolated at times, though at least he is now on the scoresheet. All in all, baby steps but can see some, albeit slight improvement.

Reference the above I also think Rotherham were the better of the two teams we played, though they lacked a ‘cutting edge’ upfront.

I still think we're light in the middle. Colback's injury showed that today. Watson looked poor again, we just slow down too much with him in the side.

I think Yacob will be Colback's competition for the DM spot.

I don't think Watson can do what Guedioura can. Fine for the last ten minutes, but not a starter. It wouldn't surprise me to see a replacement in January, before being offloaded next summer.

Defence looked solid. Grabban isolated. A really poor game until the second half.

Did ok at the bookies. $400 up. Would've been $2000 if it wasn't for Leeds. Still, I can't complain being 4 points of the top.

4 games to go until the International break:

Stoke (H) - cup - Win. Stoke to put out a sheet side as struggling in the league.
Blackburn (A) - Draw. Brereton with an equaliser no doubt.
Millwall (H) - Win. They've been very very poor.
Boro (A) - No idea. Will be a good measure after the Brentford loss.

Well done to Derby btw, for beating Brentford. Obviously they had to fight back after the last two results. But still, a great win for them. I thought they lose that tbh.

Still very much a work in progress in Nottingham.

Cheers

Maybe the stoke game is an opportunity for us to experiment with the two central midfielders and see what the new Greek lad can do.

We do need someone who can move the ball quickly, and accurately, into the final third on a consistent basis

Quite impressed with Robinson. Seems to have settled in well and defended firmly.

Fox got a well deserved ovation from the crowd at the end as he got the MOTM award. What a comeback from him. Was on most supporter’s must sell list for the majority of his career here. Has been a revaluation at centre half.

Can I just say how good it was to hear the crowd chanting out for Danny Fox on Saturday.

Even when he was playing left back I tried to stick up for him. Not because he was the best left back in the world, but because he was the best (the only) left back we had and to boo him during a game could only have a negative effect on the team.

Every time he played CB he looked as if that was his natural position and having had an extended run he is now one of our key players. He is not the tallest CB, but he still wins his share of headers. He is not the quickest, but he rarely gets done for pace. He knows his limitations but he has been well coached and worked hard to compensate.

During his time out of the team he has kept his head down, there have been no stories or rumours of him causing trouble. A really good pro and so far my candidate for player of the year.

Yep I thought he was our best player against Swansea too.
His confidence has gown with the games that he's played, he is always the C/H taking the ball forward and looking for the right pass.

Yes, it was great to hear. I have been critical of Fox in the passed so I chanted his name as loud as I could at the end of the game as he has been a revelation. 👍🏼

Fox was a poor left back, he had a tendency to drift inside, probably because hes more comfortable in the centre but also compounded by a pretty poor squad at the time. I thought in the rare occasions he got drafted into CB he did well, maybe not better than the injured player he was covering but miles ahead of his LB performances.

Well, now he's putting in MOTM performances each week and hes more than earned the plaudits hes getting.

I don't get the Muppets that boo their own players though

Booing your own players is moronic. Doesn’t mean you can’t be critical about players though. Fox was awful at LB and I don’t agree that he was the best LB we had. Would have rather played Lichaj or an academy player. He’s playing well now though and credit to him and the manager.
