Lukaku isn't United's main problem. Its the way Jose deploys him which is a major problem
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Bingo.
He either wants to play on shoulder to f last man or running from 40 yards out from the right. Not being a target/holdup man.

Lukaku is a player that will score goals and on paper have good stats but is detrimental to the whole team imo. Doesn't get others involved, loses the ball a lot and forces your midfielders to waste a lot of energy running up to support only to have to be on their heels again once lukaku loses it.

We can win titles with Lukaku - an average season in terms of goals scored last season for him got us to as many points as Leicester won the title with
With City in the league the mission is harder. For that you need Lukaku to be scoring loads of goals but you also need support goals either side of him and at least 20 from midfield
If I had to list the top 10 problems United face right now Lukaku is right down the bottom
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly.
Getting the ball in to him - or anyone else playing up top for that matter - quickly enough in dangerous areas is much more of a concern.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Getting him or any other striker into dangerous areas rather than playing with their backs to goal is even more of a concern...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Also this.
Jose won't drop the use of his number nine as an out ball and pivot though the transition though.

For me, goalscoring aside, he's looked his best and most dangerous playing off the right.
I'd still like to see a forward line of:
Lukaku----------------Martial
Rashford

If we want to get to the next level we need a striker who is just better at playing football than Lukaku.
He will always get goals against weaker opposition but we need a lot more in terms of link up play, cement trapping ability and movement. A lot of the time the ball doesn't stick to him, gets caught under his feet while dribbling or simply just doesn't move to provide an option to feet or in behind.

But this makes Lukaku a problem because he's not good enough at it
Over half our team don't really suit the managers tactics... And he's signed half of them

Lukaku is technically flawed flat track bully. I'm not sure a move to Italy where they actually know how to defend makes much sense.
Probably better off staying at United being the "big ban" they can just lump it up to until Jose gets fired and then a manager that plays decent football will see him for what he is and get rid

I actually think Lukaku is a pretty decent example of a Jose-style number nine. He's actually pretty decent at doing the job Jose wants him to do, despite the fact it limits his game pretty severely.
Imagine switching out Lukaku for Firmino, Morata or Lacazette. I don't think any of them could do the job Jose asks Lukaku to do nearly as well. They might all be better in to feet, but they prefer a shorter game dropping off and I couldn't see any of them winning the longer ball with their backs to goal as often as Lukaku does.
Generally speaking (yes, I know there are historical counterexamples), you need to be a brute and a bully to succeed as a CF under Jose. And Lukaku is that.

Is he fook
When is he a brute... When does he bully anybody physically
He should... And he's certainly built for the job... But he simply doesn't... He doesn't even win the long ball with his back to goal that often ffs, he barely challenges other than a long ball down the flank
He plays nothing like a Drogba... Or even a Milito
Firmino etc wouldn't do the job either no argument there tho
