Scott Brown

Celtic’s captain is on 476 appearances for Celtic and will hopefully hit the 500 game mark this season. He could also realistically get into the top ten Celtic players in terms of appearances for the club with jinky currently 10th with 526 appearances. His appearances include 92 in Europe.

In his 11 full seasons at Celtic he has won 8 titles, 4 Scottish cups, 4 league cups, and been the PFA player of the year twice.

While he has excelled since Brendan Rogers became manager and captained the club to back to back trebles, for me has been an absolute stalwart since joining Celtic.

His engine, determination, and drive has dragged the team to victory at times on so many occasions. He doesn’t compare to other Celtic legends in terms of ability and relative success in Europe but that was a different era and he has to be one of the best signings Celtic have made in terms of getting your money’s worth. 4.4 million was an absolute bargain in my opinion.

Can see John McGinn being a big miss. Would have filled the brown hole quite well.

4.4 million...absolute steal!

Yes indeed and lets not forget his 2.0 million salary per year...excellent business

You can pay your players whatever you want - as long as you balance the books. Celtic have balanced the books for years now AND dominated domestically - doesn’t get any better if you’re a Celtic fan

9 appearances a season maybe if I'm being generous.

Listen, i'm not going to let his terrific form the past 2 years overcloud the absolute abomination of a footballer he was for the majority of his first 7 years here.

Aye first year he clearly wasn't mentally able to play, 2nd year he was great but then he was poor for the next 3 or 4, had one good season under Lennon then filtered away like the rest of them.

He had a good 3rd season too NNH then tried to play through an injury and was guff. He then started season 4 in the same way before an op cleared it and played really well again. For me it’s more to do with his drive and leadership - Aitken was the same and was great for Celtic

I've never doubted his ability as a captain and leader mate.

His ability on the ball was my issue and until BR came in he was shockingly bad at times on it.

Aye fair enough NNH - not always the best in the past
