It's always possible, but it looked for all the world a deliberate tactic. And it's kind of Jose's thing to do in games against big teams. Perhaps he didn't mean for them to sit off that much.

We never press the ball... Ever... It's nothing to do with being intimidated... We've a team of seasoned internationals ffs, world cup winners, why would they be intimidated

Jose does not take the blame for anything, it's getting embarrassing for him.

But Luke Shaw came out and said we paid them too much respect in the first half.

They were the better side regardless and controlled in every aspect of the game.
