After last weeks fiasco where we were 1-0 down at half time, Derby are once again at the Baseball Ground for the visit of the European champions Aston Villa. Someone tell me what the 'Villa' is?
Flattery deceives but this analogy does Derby a disservice as we struggle to put the correlation on MEGs against the no doubt false grades put against KS2 results which result in vey dodgy data from primary schools, resulting n frustrating setting which...........sorry wrong thread.
Mason and # CB4 are still out as is George ( I give up) Someone. However Craig and Mountie should be back after the international break (which one?). Did we miss them last week or is it a case of finally the sum of the parts being greater than that of the individuals?
Last time we lost to Villa in the league was 10 years when we endured an unlucky 6-0 defeat. But we didn't lose to them last year. Also we are unbeaten in the last seven games at PP and Villa haven't won away since the start of the season.........so guess what?

It easy to be cliche after a defeat like that.
But having listened to Franks interview after the game we won't have to many disappointments at home this season.
We got a lesson from a team who only lost out by a goal to be in the PL so take it on the chin and learn.

This side will bounce backo mate. Ive no doubts about it. Poor 2nd half today but give Villa some credit they did well 2nd half.

Bogle was at fault for the first two goals. Yes he's a good young player but his lack of experience is costing us goals. He is probably getting too close to the wide attacker so being turned too easily.
Lawrence was ineffective and missed a good chance. Flojo was even less effective when he came on. Bennett was having a decent game. Could have been a different result had he not been injured. We lost control of the game after he went off.
Thought Marriott battled well throughout.

Our midfield did just what Villa needed - kept passing back and sideways until, eventually and inevitable we gave the ball away - and then they attacked in numbers and overwhelmed our defence. Our midfield were nowhere and gave no protection. Johnson, Bryson, Evans will see their chances much improved by this lack of power in their game. It is hard to reconcile our beating WBA 1-4, WBA beating Leeds 1-4 and Leeds beating us 4-1. It is an anything goes sort of league.
