First it was Everton who shut down the Chelsea midfield, putting pressure on the linchpin Jorginho.
Jorginho is a player that Sarri explained yesterday (or at least implied when referring to Kante) who has the technique in the CM/DM role to be the start of their attacks. Not a destroyer but a runner with the ability in tight situations to retain the ball and set attacks in motion.
This is seemingly what Sarri wants from his DM and does not believe the 2 time title winning, Player of the Season 15/16 and world cup winning DM Kante has these abilities...hence he is pushed a bit wider and more advanced.
I only saw the highlights of the EFC game but the analysis showed Sigurdsson i think sitting on Jorginho and limiting his effectiveness. Chelsea struggeld to make too many chances.
vs Spurs it was Alli who mainly closed him down and again Chelsea mustered very little in attack.
It was also telling for Sons brilliant goal that Jorginho seriously lacks pace. Son was so much quicker than him that there wasnt even a chance to bring him down. Son slowed him down and then sped off out of sight. Kante is a much better athlete and while he may not have kept up with Son in that situation, he would have been closer and better placed to apply pressure or foul Son before he reached the area.
Chelsea have some real quality in attack and can win a game from nowhere with Alonso, Hazard and Willian. Against a lot of teams this will be enough. But, Morata is a poor striker , and with a few defensive frailties (Luiz mainly) and a keeper who is yet to show his worth, have Everton and Spurs shown the rest of the league how to deal with them and expose their weaknesses?
Chelsea & Sarri Found Out ?

And the same thing happened with Conte. And likely would have with another pragmatic manager with good credentials. Once the results go down hill they become less responsive. That is the same for most players anywhere. I’m not doubting the impact of the style of play, but I’ve never thought it was the issue that has been made out by many Chelsea fans. Never will. It was the managers being caaaaants more than anything. It’s more an issue for the fans than the players.

From what I know he can get a bit prickly. So there will be a fall out at some point no doubt. It’s Chelsea.

Yeah true about the type of player. Though Inter were never underdogs in Serie A and at did work at Chelsea until he lost his shiiiiiiit.
I think his issue is he’s lost belief in himself so it’s difficult to transmit that to players that are becoming less and less responsive to his style of man management.
Look at the man management styles of most of the other top managers and they are in stark contrast, and as a result I think that makes them more versatile when it comes to what clubs they can manage.

I find it baffling that Kante is being played out of position. You genuinely have the best DM in the world... why on earth wouldn't you play him there?!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s a misconception though because he’s not someone who generally sits and breaks up the play (or dictates it) like a Makelele for example. He presses, harasses and closes his opponents down hence why his stamina and mobility is such an asset. He’s more of a ball-winner who tends to push higher up the pitch, so where he’s being played at the moment isn’t as much of an issue it’s made out to be as it allows him to get about the pitch more.
Chelsea and Jorginho haven’t been ‘found out’, they’ve just had teams with the quality to implement their game plan against them successfully. Every tactic and formation has weaknesses to be exploited, but not everyone is good enough to do so.

I think that Sarri is good but he can be a bit rigid with rotations and sometimes quite predictible. His insistence on badly utilizing Kante and not using RLC,Emerson,Giroud,Pedro and CHO properly irks me a lot.

Problem on Saturday was not pressure on jorgino, was in space 100 times, just our back four and midfield were too slow to find him. Couldn’t beat spurs press.
Everton with a decent striker we’d have won the game comfortably.
As for being found out every single Chelsea an(rare we all agree)said we wouldn’t win the league so it is what it is. A build in progress

If we had a decent striker we could have played Richarlison in his favourite position and we may have won that game. It's all ifs and buts
